You're probably best off first trying to lost weight through cardio excercices.
Then you'll be in a better position to start doing weight training.

    Does that answer your question?

Do a mixture of cardio and weights, change it up each day you go. Diet is the most important part of weight lose. Try to eat healthier you want see changes straight away however If you half your portion size of your current food and exercise up to 3 1/2 hours a week (mix of weights and cardio) you will feel and start to break the bad habits. Change your diet from week to week reducing shit and eating non procesed (ideal foods) and your on your weigh my man !

To be honest, when I was fat, I went straight into weight training and completely left out cardio.
I eat healthily (but still ate a lot) and did weights and it took me about about 8 months to get ripped. I'm pretty ripped now, but I could look even better if I quit drinking.

Losing weight is all about the food you eat IMO :)

Also.... Moved to Health and Fitness :)

Losing fat is 85%+ Diet. It's extremely hard to do both at the same time.

Wow, someone who isn't a complete idiot, finally.

So sick of people thinking that you can only lose weight by doing cardio and if you lift weights, you will gain muscle on top of your fat lmao, what retards. Thank you Shoop for being smart.

I too was 360 pounds, starting lifting weights and eating right with no cardio and i'm down to 240 now and joining the Army.

If you lift weights to lose weight, just do low weight, high reps, and get a good cutting method going. Don't do any bulking methods since cutting is targeting fat burning.

Learn to play basketball if you don't know how, hustling your butt up and down the court will do it, then hit the gym either before or after, but as mentioned above, WATCH WHAT YOU EAT! Cut out the pop/soda and junkfoods/fastfoods.

Inorder to lose weight and gain muscle il'l tell you this if your a beginner this is possible once you're out of the beginner zone there are bulking/cutting phases you can decide just to keep doing what you're doing but i'd bulk/cut but anyways to gain muscle lose weight get 1 gram of protein per pound of weight and try getting ur vitamins, fish oils try hitting the gym 4-5 days a week if you want to do more do so try not eating crap eat 5-6 times a day with portioned ammounts and be in a slight caloric surplus of 100 calories

In all in your diet if you want to lose weight. Don't focus on lifting too much weight while trying to lose fat as you'll just build muscle under the fat. Do cardio which will help your fat loss. Again, keep your diet in check. I can't stress that enough. Your diet decides whether you lose fat or not.

    Good luck!
