.. But, If BMTH just scammed our Donations and we loose it, what can we do?

BMTH, told everyone to send the payment as 'Personal Payment Owed'...

 

Given the current results, I'd say the longer you wait to make a decision on this matter, the less of a chance people have to reclaim their money through paypal.

 

I believe it is 60 days in which you can recall a payment when sending as a personal gift.
So watch the days people.

Seems like you need to be a little bit more careful when choosing mods..

 

So, Gohan, what happens now for all the people that used BMTH to donate for them?

 

Try to dispute on paypal. Call them and tell them the honest truth. It usually works.

Hope you guys get your money back... They really should watch who they give mod.

Syed, do you have Paypal's number because I tried contacting them through their customer support line and all it is a automated voice..

 

Brendan mentioned how fishy this seemed weeks ago. Suprising, but in light of recent events it is becoming expected that newly "trusted" members scamming.

Point being, simply because someone becomes mod doesnt make them trustworthy. I would say the best indication of trustworthiness is past transaction history.

For those of you who were scammed, i would contact Spyike. He has a knack for hunting people down and handling scammers quite well.

 

Nate, you turn me on =o.. I'm thinking about contacting Spyike, too. I only used him because I was close friends with on Runescape and he was a Moderator, to be honest...

 

Thats true, spyike is a beast at that. &I think you go to a page in your paypal and it gives you a number you can call and a security code that you must provide to the customer service person when you talk.

 

Spyike is one of a handful of people that I would trust with anything of value. He has consistently shown that he is out to help people, regardless of some of the petty differences demonstrated by interactions between him and select mods. He seems to be pretty knowledgeable on handling paypal issues as well. Cant hurt to ask him.
