It's just Bitcoin with a different proof of work algo. This concept has been around for awhile, and it started with Litecoin. It's likely that the Core chain will start to push a PoW change sometime in the immediate future, which may get people interested in Bgold. Keeping my eye on it, but it's development history is already kind of rushed and shady, but if it's a fundamentally better coin because of better miner security, it may very well gain a good portion of the market share (likely stealing a lot of it from BCH).
