Something curious I stumbled upon the other day.
There are hugs underground marketplaces for drugs using bitcoin as a currency (hidden in the deep web, you're not going to find these on google). Obviously, this is quite interesting in itself, since the authorities are seemingly powerless against them, apart from a few isolated arrests here and there of idiots who posted their addresses publicly.
Anyway, I think these two links sum up the state of affairs at the moment:
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/37352-100-usd-cash-i-will-send-next-day-free-priority-mail-shipping
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/18525-200-prepaid-vanilla-mastercard-works-worldwide
In the second instance, a $200 prepaid mastercard is being sold for the equivalent of $284. That's incredible, and really shows to what lengths these traders are willing to go to clean their money, cutting about 30% out of their turnover.
Thoughts?
