I'm overweight and sometimes I feel like I'm different because of it. I don't try to be overweight I mean it's just like I like food any ideas on how I can not feel so different?

If you're in Highschool get a friend to sign you up for track and go everyday. The good thing is you'll feel like you need to go to practice because if you don't the coaches will more than likely make you do thousands of pushups. I did this and I hated my friend at first but now I look back and he did it for my own good.

I'm the same way at times, I just have to give myself motivation. It's difficult, but you have to find a reason to lose weight, get fit, or just eat right.

I love the way food tastes, it makes me a fantastic cook. However, I've learned to fill myself up with foods I don't like as much, and merely indulge my taste buds every once in a while.

Why wont you be able to make the team? They usually dont have cuts and JV is better than nothing.

Maybe you get sad for another reason?

I can't say that at one time I believed myself to be overweight, and I did something about it. I decided to start Bodybuilding, and I cut weight, and now I'm gaining, but this time I'm gaining muscle mass. You need to be confident that you don't HAVE to be different, and with that put motivation torwards it, and do something about it! Goodluck man

When I notice I'm getting a little heavier/over-weight, I just take around a month break from the computer/xbox and go play basketball or go to the gym everyday.

So if you have any hobbies that include excersize, I recommend you take a break from the computer.

Highschool is cruel, and if youre not the same as everyone else, youre an outcast. Im not telling you to get skinny, and be like everyone else. Being an individual is the right choice. But as far as relationships come, all women are shallow, and wont be interested unless you're attractive. So if thats what youre looking for, then lose weight. If not, just be a more likeable person. That doesnt mean be congruent all the time, maybe just funny. Or something of the like. Join a band. Be special.

You could always just cut certain stuff out of your diet to lose weight. Honestly, I hate doing exercise (minus walking in the park), but i cut pop out of my diet at home, and i have lost 20 pounds since christmas.

    Play sports:

Wrestling would help with endurance, the weight room would help turn your weight problem.

Boxing puts you on a strict diet, not many weights are needed but the diet can lack carbs which isn't good.

Swimming works the whole body, enough said.

Just stop and look at the foods you eat in a day/week and try to cut out saturated fats.

I'm practically obese dude, I weigh 300 pounds and my LBM is 240 so I am still muscular inside.

My trick? Confidence, I used to be picked on most of my life for being fat (I have been since I was a little guy). Before anyone gets a chance to pick on me, I point out my flaws through a joke or two and no one else gets a chance to say anything.

I got into Rugby and am the starting prop for my team, now everyone knows me as the guy that makes the kids from Jesuit schools in my area bleed (the Jesuit kids are the best athletes in my area).

I don't wear baggy clothes to seem sloppy, I wear polos that fit normally and always look clean and smell nice. Girls like me because I'm good at conversation, I'm smart, and while fat I'm still athletic.

I have a good circle of friends, we party every weekend, hang out with girls, walk around everywhere, and smoke in the park. Make yourself comfortable around a plethora of people, then you aren't just one lonely fat kid, you'll move as a unit with your best friends.

You already pointed out your character flaw. YOU FEEL that you are different than everyone else, everyone else may not feel the same way as you. It's ok to have flaws, as long as you are a good person on the inside.

Your body recognizes as food only what you teach it to. Although I don't really advocate the extreme "purple foods only" diet that some celebrities do, it captures the idea. I once did a fruits, vegetables, eggs, fish, yogurt, matzah, nuts, and cheese diet, which worked pretty well. (Ex: microwaved mushroom tops with a bit of parmesan cheese, tomato and mozzarella sandwiches with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on toasted bread, oven-baked vegetables coated in a bit of vegetable oil, etc. It's not nearly as bare as it sounds.)

Dramatic diet changes are difficult, especially for the first two weeks. After that, though, it becomes automatic. The idea of synthetic grease and sugar becomes unappealing. You do have to be careful though: never calorie-count, do not weigh yourself more than once a week, and don't obsess over it. Focus not on losing weight, but on eating healthier.

I refuse to believe that you do now, nor ever needed to go on a diet. Not Sinny, no way, nuh-uh.

I also confirm the Soda thing. Buy Pure Life bottled water. It's only like $3.75 for a 24 pack, you can get 2 for the price of 1 cube of soda, and after a few days you'll end up drinking nothing but that. I cut soda out a while back, and got really in shape. Once I started drinking soda again, though, well, lets just say I lost all of the hard work within a matter of weeks.

I love food as well, but for some reason, I don't put on weight.

So on to you. I suggest that if you eat a lot, you should rest for a while after the meal. After that, get some exercise. Sign up for track at school. Get a treadmill at home. You'll lose weight in no time :)

Not so long ago, I had a similar issue. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't "fat". Although, if I would've carried on the way I did it wouldn't of been long before I was. I was gaining weight, although I was eating hardly anything. My issue was exercise. I played rugby, still do, and that's it. I'd use the weight rooms, I'd go on several mile jogs, although I still wasn't "fit".

My family and I had come to the conclusion that it wasn't particularly the quantity of my food, it was the food itself.

When I woke up in the mornings, I'd nip down stairs, get a couple of bottle of Cokes (500 millilitres per bottle), take them up the stairs, sit on my gaming chair and play on my PS3 for a couple of hours. At around 3 o'clock (after having 2 x 500ml bottles of Coke, nothing else) I'd walk back down the stairs, pick up my wallet and head of to the chip shop. What I'm trying to say is, food is a big part of your life. Make sure you eat at the correct times, don't skip meals, and make sure you put enough on your plate, but not too much.

I went down from drinking a 2 liter of soda a day to nothing and I haven't lost weight and it's been 3 months.
