believing in the big bang theory is a lot like believing in creationism... It still leaves us with the question "Well what came before that". We as humans can not understand the concept of infinity and we can not comprehend that something may have "always existed".... Science at this point has turned into a horse chasing a carrot on a stick, the more we discover the further everything goes, every answer leaves a million new questions... it just keeps going and going, we're not going to have the solution any time soon.

Well, I had an interesting theory that says that SS and BB can coincide in a sort of infinite universal loop with several other universes which sort of act like the human lung in the sense that they take in, and breathe out various amounts of matter which causes them to become too burdened and explode.


There is no such thing as time, so theoretically what will be, always has been...

I don't say it hasn't happened . It may be real but in my opinion but this doesn't mean there is no God . In all ways the universe can't make itself by big bang self . Like a car can't make it self without a human .

This post pretty much contradicts itself because the same concept can be applied to god? Who created God? What came before God? The idea of god being self created is just as ridiculous, and while it's possible that he has "always existed", I'd prefer to just cut out the fucking middle man and say that the universe has always existed.

Deacon, there's definitely some truth in what you say... It's a big circle, you know, a cycle... going going round and round...

I think that eventually through evolution and technology humans will eventually have the power of god if we don't kill each other off first, and that would be the end of the cycle, and the beginning of a new one... This is all just speculation and theory so take it with a grain of salt...

I find it more believeable that its always existed then to say someone created it out of nowhere. and for someone to create it they would have to be from a different dimension as you cannot exist in a place that you havnt created yet.

aside that, many people misunderstand the big bang theory, tho no one really knows how it happened or why. tho we can still see the effects from the big bang today. the universe may one day stop expanding and start shrinking back to one piont, then creating another huge explosion (expansion) and create the universe all over again. Im not saying i believe this 100%, its just an idea.

Exactly, unfortunatly this is a hard concept to grasp. Also, we can essentially prove the big bang up until the fraction of a second before it happened.

Another theory I've heard and tend to believe just because its simple enough is that the universe has always existed. This is based off Hubble's theory that the universe is expanding. If it is expanding into the future then as we go back in time it shrinks. It never disapeards, just gets smaller into an "infinitely dense subatomic particle" of sorts. The explosion was really just the exponetial growth exploding into a measurable size.

Meh, really Ugster was right in saying we won't know any time soon because as one question is answered a million more surface.

My thought being that lets say there's three universes (to make it smaller and easy to grasp.).

Ok those three universes all have a central point of EXTREMELY high gravitational pull, everything in the universe is attracted to this central point, or the center of the universe.

Ok we take this idea, and put it on each three ok. Now, the big bang says that the matter exploded from a tiny atom. So like, how did this happen?

Well lets take gravity and pull everything in, picture a blanket, and a bowling ball in the center, dump several golf balls in the blanket, all of them will fall to the bowling balls center. Now lets say this blanket was spinning clockwise at infinite speed.

Alright, that's nice, it's going fast, now lets say it stops, and goes the opposite direction. Centrifugal force will have been stopped, and the matter that was spinning together into this tiny atom (compression made all this matter at the speed collapse together). Ok, so it stops and spins the other direction, if it does this, all the matter spinning so fast will go the opposite way and explode into a massive speed at which it was spinning in the first place.

simple physics.

Anyways..

That idea combined with the law energy can neither be created nor destroyed merely lost or transfered, means that no new matter is causing this gravity pull to bring everything in. So what happens?

Certain matter on the outscape (that will have gone farther, for instance you toss the bowling ball up, the golf balls on the outside will fall out before the ones on the inside) but this certain matter will be attracted to higher levels of gravity spinning the direction they are rotating and spinning.

So all this matter is being exchanged between inifnium universi. And as such it allows for the redevelopment of a central gravitational pull because rotation plus speed creates gravity.



So let's give an example to make you visualize it.


let's take the earth, and say it stops spinning right now and goes the other direction, for just a few split seconds.

This may not seem much, but what this means is that the gravitational pull on the earth and the matter would caue the earth to float off of its axis and into wherever it decided to spin into, probably the sun.

That energy would go into the sun, the sun would expand, big hellacious problems, and since the earth hit it, it would stop spinning as well, thus losing it's gravtitational pull and rotation and go the opposite direction.

Eventually all the matter would do this and then create a central gravity system as it falls back to the center from wence it came.




I have a long paper written on this, Shinoda read it, but it's pretty interesting.


How the big bang and steady state come together, well, steady state suggests it always has been, big bang suggests a deffinate beginning in time. Neither of which are true, but it has always been steady bangs...

Learn the difference between evolutionary theory and the Big Bang. Then, come back to SFA.

The cool thing is if that we decide to accept the big bang theory as true, then theoretically the big bang never stopped... We're still part of the continuing big bang. The big bang is still going on, it kinda goes hand in hand with evolution, so I can see how world could associate the two.

I don't see why it's so hard to imagine we've evolved from gases especially when we're dealing with such an enormous time frame. The world is all about change bro, your evolving every second into a different person... and there's plenty of proof out there to show that humans looked a hell of a lot different thousands of years ago.

And in fact, science proves that things can form from gases, and no the big bang doesn't state that.

The gas you're thinking of is way off, it was gas and matter.

Look at Jupiter buddy, that planet is denser than any other known planet, and yet it's all gas.

So things CAN form from Gas, as well as the microbacterial you so say is impossible.

I suggest you head over to ted.com and watch some of their genomics videos, etc, before you jump to a conclusion that it's impossible.

The universe is EVERYTHING, therefor you cant have more then one, it would just be part of the universe.

 

A couple of points.

Nature very rarely exhibits linear behavior in any system. Nearly all things in nature occur in cycles, some long, some short, some incredibly short (like sound waves).

To study a phenomenon such as the stars and interstellar gas clouds around us, and draw the conclusion that they are all moving away from us, and then conclude that the universe must have exploded to get to that state, is a great intellectual mistake. Likewise, taking a snapshot of temperature variance on the earth, then concluding that the earth is going to get indefinitely hotter is also a great intellectual mistake.

When we study nature we must keep in mind the common knowledge that nature tends toward ever dampening cycles wherever there is observable change.

As for evolution. It seems to me we are perhaps de-evolving?
Any isolated group of animals or humans slowly become genetically homogeneous. Genetic diversity is lost with every generation. If two parents have two children, there will still be a loss of diversity as the two children are more similar to each other than each parent is to the other parent. It would seem to me that this is evidence of a system winding down, not winding up. Has anyone got a valid counterargument to this?
