This is the scariest thing that can happen to a MM. I saw this with my own eyes. The scammer talked to ugstar and got his 10M (ugstar traded him thinking its me) but thats like 3 months ago.

This happened to me awhile ago, so fucking stupid, the one time I use a MM and I get scammed.

    Never using a MM again.

This is a no-no, DO not ask them to mail you because they will, anyone can send any mail looking like coming from someone else (it looks like [email protected] is the most masquaraded one but who will believe that :p), and they do not need to know passwords or anything .

So please USE the pm center on sythe, i mean if you are here it is because you trust sythe, just use your msn or other, and confirm the MM identity via Sythe, if Sythe is said to be down (DoS or other), just postpone the trade, and i must say a possible lost trade is better than a surely lost money isn't ?

    PS:
    - No , do not pm me, nor contact me on how you can do such bad things, i am posting about them just for your own safety, not to learn ways to become rogues.
    - I must say that there are things called "certified mails", these belong to a very very heavy certification process, and i highly doubt anyone around the forum has gone through it, and it is mainly reserved for some professional purposes, and for myself, i never ever received a single certified mail (my inboxes are generally around 10K mails).

True, this scam do have another dimension.

For few days I had one guy contacting me and telling me to PM him in sythe.

However, like I suspected, the user name he wanted me to PM are different ones.

So only way to be SAFE is first ask the party to PM YOU in Sythe then reply to that PM with your msn that you are talking.

Yes, I left, for a short time, I come back and see I'm in like 5 convos, ranging from 20-120M being traded, almost all backed out because it didn't seem right, and I got back just seconds after he scammed someone's 2M which I'll be paying back. Just posted this as a news flash that it's still out there and can easily happen to someone with low defense.

    Its Time For....

    How This Shit Works!!

1)Msn Imitating: All This Is, Is A Simple Change Of The Nick (Using Some Retarded Script) And Sending A Message!
2)Mail Forging: All This Thingy Is, Is Basicly Connecting To A SMTP Server That Allows Anon Connections. Then A Mail Is Sent With The Chosen To, From And Reply To Headers. The Way To Check Which Servers The Email Came From Is By Reading The Headers!! If The @ForgedName.com Dont Match Ze Server Then The Mail Is Fake! And If The Retard Who Sent The Mail Was Stupid, Then You Can Also Get Their Ip!!! Yay!

Guess what? We all know what it is, and how easy it is. This post is to remind people about it, because lately there has been a activity pick up on this.

Yes, i fell a victim to his mimic.
Costed me 7million in MM fees.
Got him banned, i've tried to warn people recently but this seems to do a way more efficient job lol.

    Thank you.

If you are using Windows Live Messenger on the main window (Not the window you are talking in) Right click on your contact and add a Nickname to them e.g. The Real Dorito and when he talks it will appear saying that instead of what his normal one says.

That is an easy way to pick out whose talking in a convo where people are changing there names.
