Best surround sound xbox 360 headset?

What I want:

- $100 to 200 headset
- Minimal wires, wireless preferred
- rechargeable if wireless
- Great surround sound and game chat
- Sleek design
- Lightweight
- Comfortable

Please give me some links to good headsets.. If you like or dislike one, please tell me why. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this.

My friend uses Tritans, their more expensive, but the sound quality is better than Turtle Beaches, and it is more comfortable.

Though I think they're out of your price range($250) they would still be a good buy.

 

Which one does he have, the AX PRO in your picture?

I just read some reviews on the Tritton AX PRO and it seems like a lot of people are having issues with the microphone on that...

I'm not really sure which he has, but I can ask him tomorrow. But primarily, my friends have Turtle beachs. I may get that guy's old Beaches b/c he got the trittons now, and the guy he gave them to got his own set of trittons and gave back the beaches.

 

My friend has a turtle beach, apparently they are pretty coo.
You're supposed to be able to hear footsteps etc. very easily.

 

Does the Tritton headset raise incoming voice volumes when the game sound is louder, like the Turtle Beach one claims to do? If not, is it hard to hear people sometimes?

 

I've looked more into the Tritton AX PRO and the Turtle Beach X41s and I have read some complaints about both that would be a major turn off for me:

Tritton:
- TONS OF WIRES!

X41:
- Requires two AAA batteries
- "Occasional audio pop and dropout"
- "can interfere with other devices"

 

turtle beaches x1's are like $50 in stores... i think x4's are $200 or a little under, i recommend either.

 

I will try out the Tritton AX PRO because I'm fairly certain that the Turtle Beach X41 will not work out for me because of interference (my router is in the same room as my xbox, right above it).

How many wires actually plug into the controller??

 

I have the turtle beach X3's. They're pretty nice. I don't know the exact retail price but I got mine for $25.. hell of a deal for what I got.

Just so you know, I'm pretty sure there aren't going to be any mics that won't require a couple of batteries. Mine requires 2 AAAs. Just get two pairs of rechargeables (so you're never without a set of batteries). They last about a week if you play a lot, probably longer if you only play a few hours a day. Mine do have a slight hum in the background, but you can't even hear it during gameplay, only like when you're in menus/the dashboard etc.

Also, I have no trouble hearing my teammates and I've never had a complaint from anybody about the quality of my voice. Unless you plan on being SUPR SRS MLG PRO spending $200 on a headset seems a little ridiculous to me when you can still get good quality out of a bargain headset.

 

The best headset you could probably get are X1's or X3's, but they are wired.

Is there any particular reason why you want wireless?

Wireless preferred just because my console is a good 7-9 feet away from my couch.

 

X1's plug into your control and then into the back of your Xbox. And the cable is pretty long.

 

Ok. If I'm going to have a cord going across the room then I'd rather the headset have DD5.1 surround sound

 

X1's cheap and cheerful, give the same footstep effect for 100$+ cheaper

 

Every person who buys a headset is gonna complain about something. We all don't have the same preference. So don't talk about problems with headsets, theres always gonna be someone complaining about something.

 

Ok.. thanks for your opinion but that has nothing to do with what I've asked so far <_<


I'll see if I can move my router elsewhere and go with the X41s if I can, if not then I will get the Tritton AX PROs


I wish I could find either of these in Jacksonville.....
