Best (living? or ever) Guitar Player!!!

I believe, and so do the people on youtube, that Buckethead is the greatest guitar player ever, living anyways.

Just because you heard his song on Guitar Hero 2 doesn't mean he's the best guitarist ever. To be honest, there is no greatest guitar player.

But I would either say Jimmy Page, or Jimi Hendrix.

Rofl. John Frusciante is definitely NOT the best guitarist. He doesn't even come close.

 

And just so you know the song "Jordon" on guitar hero is not the real version... in fact, the real version doesn't even have a solo.

I'd say either Hendrix, Jimmy Page, or Eddie Van Halen.

You have to be kidding. That guys solos are so lame, he plays them so fast it just becomes pointless to listen to. Some of his work is alright, but the solos are just overrated, anybody can tap like a dense headed ape, but it just sounds like crap.

 

It's impossible to label someone the "best guitarist", it really depends what your criteria is. No one who knows anything about music can deny that Yngwie Malmsteen is much more technically skilled than Page or Hendrix, but I'd say they're both better guitarists than him, because his music sucks balls for the most part (imo). I'd say the best guitarist ever is Steve Vai.

 

As I said, there is no "best guitarist ever", maybe one who best delivers in their respective genre/sub-genre, because most guitar players have signatures that are unmatched to others, but just because those signatures may suit your taste better than others doesn't make them the best. Unless you've listened to every living/dead guitarist in history, there is no determining "the best".

 

Jimmy Hendrix is probably the best but there's a good guitarist and he's in the band All That Remains and in the song Six he plays fast.
