This if you have the budget. If not do knives. They sell very easily too so it wont be hard getting rid of them.

 

Gold w/ gauntlets is how I did it. Cost me about 9m to get from 61 to 80. Of course you have about 3m in gold bars leaving it about a 6m lost.

I just hung onto my bars for the heck of it.

 

cannon balls if urgoing towards money, its wat i did from 50 -60 took a bit but was worth it

For 99 smith I did, bronze/iron knives. Steel plates, Mith Plates, Addy Bolt tips and then addy plates.

 

What level did you start addy bolts?

 

Im a skiller and cant do the quest for the gloves.

 

Yeah cannon alls or knives are your best bet so!

 

Smelt iron ore and sell the bars = big profit + free level 99 smithing!

 

Definately try SC hammers. They help a lot. If you did get hammers, i would recommend something that gives A LOT of xp. To maximize the xp you can gain with them.

 

If you have decent stats, you can easily get a hammer per game and each game lasts 20 minutes.
