Best bow for training rangers?

Hi I'm currently 88 range , 70 def.

Im using Magic shortbow with mithril arrows for training right now.

Is there a better option? I heard crossbows were good?

Help plz!

 

It depends on where you're training. Generally I'd say crossbows are best for slayer/bosses/safespotting, while knives are best for fast training spots, like Yaks.

 

Whats best for soulwars? I usually attack players and jellies.

 

use knives or darts at like yaks or firegiants there faster then bows

 

Where are you training? If it's a caged monster, i'd just use bone bolts.

 

for soulwars i would use either a bone crossbow (bolts are 2gp ea) or bronze, iron knives/darts.

 

use a dbow on ogres

 

mage short bow's on ogre's or fire giant's if legit for nic eloot's

 

MSB with iron arrows does work for me.

 

I train my range wit a canon usually

 

besides soulwars i would definitely go with iron knives/zammy book. im training a ranger also. currently doing SW tho

 

Bone bolts with a crossbow.

Cheaper. Though I prefer a magic shortbow.

 

Why would you use a bow. Get yourself a sling and bot away lol

 

for low defence monsters use knives, for everything else use a rune crossbow with broad bolts(needs 55 slayer but is worth it)

 

Rune crossbow with broad bolts is a great way to train. If you have money though then use chinchompas, they're the fastest range xp in the game,

For lathas camp would chins be a better idea?

I c ur using magic shortbow and mithril arrows, why?
grab yourself a rune crossbow, and broadbolts or if you
do not have 55 slayer , grab mithril bolts instead.

it makes training alot faster since u hit higher and
u wont need to bank as much , since ull have a shield
with the crossbow, hope i helped!

 

I'm now 88m ranged xp, I always did what you did, msb/mithril arrows. Although rune c'bow and broad bolts are also quite good. void is worthwhile as well.

Void gives invisable bonuses but rivals armadyl for ranged bonus when you add that into consideration. The mage defense isn't quite as high but when you add spectral to it you're set to drop some mages. ^_^

I babble on.. if you make any adjustments I'd go with rcb and broad bolts.
