Believers in God

Ask something new instead of the same damn question over and over..
Ok, think about this, do you think life for any human would be interesting without anything to fear, expect, surprise? Yeah, I'm pretty sure the natural disasters are just to experience some of those emotions. I'm pretty sure God doesn't want human beings bored, or think, hey there is no risk to anything. Also, God is everything in the universe, so even the bad (as we think) can be in God.

I don't know what kind of response that was but it had little relevance to my original question, like I said, I'm not disproving religion or questioning the existence of god. I asked how he can justify killing thousands of people.

God gives us freedom. We can make our own decisions but they all have consequences. The people in 3rd world countries are suffering now but later on when they die god is going to recognize there suffering and bring them into heaven. As as for the natural disaster, they are "natural" its part of the world god made. It's called the circle of life and in that circle there is sometimes things that prevent lives from continuing (murder, disease etc.)

the beatitudes.:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you

God doesn't have to justify himself or any of His actions. It could be a test or anything, but simple questions like that are the least of concerns to those who believe in Him.

Very good response, Trippy Dream!

People dying are not from God's actions. It is in every living thing's nature to die at some point. No one, or no breathing thing can live forever. Natural disasters probably got their name because they're nature. You can't control science, God does not choose how fast wind blows, or how much rain there is, or anything of that.

Go read the bible please, god can control everything listed, according to the book of course.

Of course he could control it, but doing so would mean the revoking of our free will. God doesn't want that.

im Catholic Christian. There are people who are called 'Biblicists' (i think thats the word) that believe everything from the bible. They don't believe in the big bang. The think that God makes natural disasters to test out faith.

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant
character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust,
unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser;
a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal,
pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously
malevolent bully."
Does this answer your question? He does not justify Himself. Rather; I should say a God such as this one does not deserve worship. Each and one of the above descriptions can be supported biblically.

Free will can not exist alongside an omnipotent omnicient being.
In fact the whole theory that god created earth as a test for the afterlife is laughable, seeing as god already knows what is inside each mans heart, and already knows every choice you are going to make before time..
He could sentence you to heaven or hell the moment he creates you good or bad enough for either one.

People who say things like "It's human nature, God can't control it," are simply disproving God's existence.

For arguments sake, God created all that exists. He can't create a human without also making that human think/act a certain way, or the person would be a vegetable. This means that it was God's intention for us to be the way we are. In other words, God is fine with us having mental illnesses, genocide, poverty, and racism.

If you disagree with the above paragraph, you're disproving the existence of your God.

The same can be asked to the Muslim extremists.

If God is in fact the creator, he can do as he see's fit. If you look at it like that, its one of those if I built it, I can destroy it, type things. I'm sure as a kid your parents said to you at some point or you've heard it, "I brought you into this world and I can take you out". Now that isn't in the literal sense (in most cases) but if God does exist I'm sure that is the way that it works. Many of the reasons thousands of people get killed in the bible have very clear reasoning behind them. There is no secret that God can be merciful, but no where in the Bible does it state that he is generally a merciful God. If you believe, you are supposed to live by his code of ethics placed in the Bible. If you do not you are sent to burn in Hell for eternity. There doesn't sound like theres much mercy in that, if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I am a Christian. A baptist infact. I have read through the Bible, I haven't finished it and don't claim to have. But I respect all points of view like it is asked of me in the Bible.

There is, however, one point of view that I cannot see eye to eye on, Muslim extremism. I know plenty of good people who are Muslim, but the extremists are generally the ones who commit martyrdom. Examples being 9/11 and stoning people inside of generally Muslim countries for dis-obeying the Muslim religion. In the Bible, God justifies his own killings, but asks that the people not do it for him. It is considered a sin, against the Biblical religious code.

I haven't looked much into the religion of Islam so I'm not quite sure what that pertains to in scope of all this.

Anyway, thats my look at it. I'm not bashing the Muslims nor am I justifying any killings what so ever. Its not my place to do so.

Except those people aren't Muslim. All over the Quran and Hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad) it's stated to NEVER harm civilians, to NEVER commit suicide. Stoning isn't used for religious disobedience but as a punishment for adultery. Want citations?

Christianity has it's fair share of extremists, as do many other religious factions.

Don't bullshit me. What is the Muslim punishment for apostasy? Want citations? What is the Muslim punishment for homosexuality? Want references?
If you cannot offer anything intellectually justifiable, then stay away from this part of the forums.

It's simple. God doesn't interfere. What is life? It's only a stage of your existance, and a short one at that. Think of eternity. If a soul is everlasting (like I believe) Your mortal life is nothing. That is probably why God justifies it.

Please present your arguments logically. Simply saying 'I believe something' does not constitute a valid point.

By all means I am not a religous person but I am simply looking at this from a scientific stand point. If no one had ever died on earth then we would have ran out of food and resources a long long time ago and eventually we would be destoying our world. So is god to say that a human life is more precious then every organism on our planet? At some point some of us have to go it's kinda the damned if you don't and damned if you do for gods decisions
