Hey guys,

I've always seen great things about LoL and I feel like it's about time to possibly get into it and try.

Are there any beginner guides to start me off? I literally have no idea how to play anything so I'm a complete newbie with it.

Also, would I be able to play it on my Apple Macbook Air?

Thanks guys!

You can also add me via skype: bartons.vodka

Check out videogamedunkey's League of Legends tutorial. It's won me countless games.

If you've never played before, try to find someone who has and have them give you advice. If you add me on skype I'll play with you on a low level account when my main account is banned for leaving games, which happens too much to me because I rage too easy.

+1 to streams. They help so much, just watch a bunch and you'll learn off them by yourself

But the most important is practicing.

Good luck.

I dont even get the game having never played it and only watched a few videos. like I don't get it at all. is it just one mode, battle in teams? im so confused here

Continue to watch Aria and you will get it, as streamers occasionally will explain why they were doing certain things, or watch a tournament, im sure the caster will explain in depth what is going on, as they cater to newer audience as well.
I'm happy Barton and you Aria are looking to start playing League. As the biggest game in the world currently, and with Runscape on decline, i think Sythe should definitely look to promote LoL more.

If you've never played the game before, it can be summed up just by its name, Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. It's 2 teams of 5 that race to reach each others base. To do this, there's different roles on the team and different places to pressure on the map to reach the base. There's 3 places to reach the base, or 3 lanes: Mid lane, Top lane, and Bot lane. In addition to the lanes, there's a space between them all called the jungle, which is filled by the 5th role. These roles are ussually meant to contain, but don't have to, the following types of champions:

Top: Tank
Mid: Team AP Carry
Jungle: Fighter/offtank, Assassin
Bot lane: Support (helps the team out with cc and champions buffs)
2nd Bot lane: ADC (attack damage carry, 100% of the time a ranged champion.)

There are plenty of champions to fill all of these rules, and the format for who you pick and where you go isn't necessarily rock solid. There's a finite, but large amount, of possibilites as to where to go, what items to build, and how to push lanes to the enemies base. The most important thing I can honestly say though to any new player would be to try your hardest not to miss killing minions, and don't try to kill whoever you're laning against unless you know you can win.

Hope this helped, my last comment was a joke, videogamedunkey makes the funniest lol youtube videos thought it would be a laugh

League was one of the hardest skill-curve games that I've ever played. My best advice is to start with a friend who also doesn't know what's going on, read guides together and always play together. It helped me A LOT, especially when we preferred different champions and could teach each other the respective kits. In a world of smurfs, you're going to get your ass kicked on the way to 30. It's just how it happens.

Playing any game is easy, playing at a good level is a different extant. I reccommend Twitch.Tv or watching YouTube guides

The best way is just to play the game and improve game af ter game, but if you want some extra help you should definitely check out some pro players streams and read some champion guides at probuilds.com or solomid.net.

Nowadays there are way to many smurfs in low-level games but don't get upset, it's just the way it is.

Streams didnt help me as much. Tbh I just kept playing and uninstalling until I got the hang of the game with buffs/item buffs :)

Best thing is to go play with experienced people and learn from them how they play and in the meantime get control over your champs!
Also google for best items to pick for each character ;)
There was a perfect site for that what explained for each champ the best items are to pick, can't remember it now but ill edit this post when i found/remember it again ;)

I highly suggest you try not to give up.
Nowadays there are so many smurfs, but if you get over it and persist, you will find that this game is so addictive and fun.
As for how to get started, I will +1 to everyone else and say watch streams, read guides, etc.

Watch streams, play with a friend who is good who isn't an asshat and can actually give you advice on what to do. (People like me are the worse friends to play with because I'm really bad at helping other people learn and can't bring myself to care as I learned to play by myself, make sure just to have someone who can show you what to do and what you're doing wrong in a well-mannered way) Yes, you can just play to get better which is just stupid in my eyes, I used to always have ladder anxiety stemming from mainly Starcraft, using your time in a valuable manner has always been a priority to me other than League boosting... If you actually want to be good quickly and effectively, play the game, get the basics, watch top player streams, learn what they do and mimic what you need to, record your games or at least recognize and analyze your mistakes and you'll be set for a bright future in League.

watch the nooby streams on twitch.tv bruh!

Nice, but the most important question Barton; are you having fun?`is this truly an enjoyable experience apart the Runescape one that you are used to? isn't each game more fufilling?

I also added Barton on Skype, so he could ask me about any League related questions, and help him out any way possible. I invite other people in the same shoes to do the same, or merely just for help on item builds/strats/champions.
