A friend of mine that owns a name got hacked by a database leak from Konduit back in 2016. (that's what the hacker told him , as it wasn't the usual recovery but though email as the database contained his first/last name, and his zip code)

The hack happened while my friend was live, and called us right away and during that, I and other close friends(including the one that lost his name) were brought into a group chat to talk about what steps to take.

I reported it minutes after it was hacked to all name sellers, including Beast. XO responded within seconds, and asked for proof which I quickly took a screenshot of DM between me and another friend.

Today I got a message by XO stating that the name has been removed in avoid list by higher ups.
It appears that Beast has bought the name for $600 which should have sent red alarm bells considering the low price for such a name, and that I reported it.

Beast did not ask me for more evidence, or clarity of that name, as I would have happily provided such information.

Beast started to message Techie, who said that if there is a reasonable doubt, which I believe there is considering that I have personally done over 20B+ in names in his discord that he owns alongside Assassin.

In the edit post, you will see a picture that beast mentions “Pier should know” referring to making a sythe report about the name being hacked, as “anyone can say anything”, but he didn't tell me about it, nor did he ask for any more evidence.

Please check edited for some private conversations, I usually consider DM's as private conversations, and details between me and another person should stay between us unless it's something that doesn't harm either of us. All of them are included below in full, none censored. If the edits below NEEDS to be made public, please make it public then.

1 more thing, the owner reached out to me a day before I bought the name. I contacted an admin to clarify what I was doing is fine. Once I got the confirmation it was fine, I went ahead to do the deal. This took over 24 hours to do so. I’m sure your friend which you guys are in a voice call… would have told him to recover his account asap! Which does not take 24 hours

I don't understand your logic to begin with.

I messaged you saying that the name was hacked, you replied with "ok ty", without any questions asked, neither did you reach out afterward to me to ask for more evidence. By messaging Techie, you confirmed that you were unsure about the legality of the name, and you refused to even ask me for more evidence which obviously is standard logic. You didn't do that. You are now using that as a defense for knowingly buying a stolen name, furthermore, not even Assassin wanted to buy it according to him due to me reporting it.



You're basing your logic that I should have known that if a name isn't reported on sythe, regardless of what someone says, it's safe to buy which you could have told me that, and even if that was the case, I wasn't active on sythe for almost 1.5 years.

The responsibility that you have after getting notified about a name being hacked which later appears for sale later, is to ask if there is any evidence, which I would have happily provided.


I know that you bought it because you wanted that name, and are now using that "excuse" as a way of not being held responsible.

Edit: It appears that Assassin did transfer it as he just told me, and about the account not being recovered is on Jagex's side, not on my friend.

All of that is besides the point because the admin said "If there was a reasonable doubt" which "ok ty" indicates that you were satisfied, and even if you weren't, you could have simply messaged me which you didn't.

The hacker obviously didn't get through the password, but recovery.

I cannot validate when the screenshot was taken vs the message that was sent because the hack happened the moment I messaged you, so I don't know how the hacker asked to sell the name 24 hours prior.


Not everyone knows, and not even I knew otherwise I would have made a sythe report, nor was it even mentioned.

Your answer to "I'm not your dad" in responds to why you didn't ask for more evidence is either laziness to do proper investigation especially when it was reported as hacked or knowingly bought it and using stupidity as a defense.

Secondly, I never worked for Gucci, I don't know what that has to do with anything. Yes, I had Gucci added as a friend, and I saw him as a friend even though the scummy shit he did, I never bought a name of him, nor did I ever support his behavior.


There is actually chatlogs of you negotiating a price the day it was hacked(please check hidden message in first post). I don't exactly know who you're trying to fool.

Hi friends, thanks for being patient. Firstly, I would like to thank Burns, Shane and Beast for being so cooperative during the report.

I'd also like to emphasize that for future references, users who have had their names stolen should be the ones posting the reports.

----
Facts:
-Original owner somehow lost the name (we cannot verify if his claims regarding the hack is true)
-Name was added to avoid list and later removed from it
-Name was bought by Beast for 900$

Later developments:
-The IGN was somehow recovered (perhaps by the works of a jmod)
-Beast was refunded his 900$

----

Even though the original state was restored by the later developments, we decided to keep this report open. The question was whether the rules regarding name sales had been violated. These rules can be found here: [Section Rules] Name Sales

After a very lengthy discussion with staff, we concluded that Beast violated his duty of investigation as a name seller. We did not believe that he bought the name in good faith and potentially fenced. There were multiple red flags that Beast ignored, and he willingly accepted the risk that he bought a potentially sniped/hacked name. The fact that he is very experienced in the name selling community only adds to his duty of investigation and does not help him in this case. Here comes a non-exhaustive list of red flags, that in cumulation, lead us to said conclusion:

• The name was reported hacked by someone not unknown to the name selling business / community. When warned, Beast acted too lenient and wavered this off. "ok ty" is the polite version of "bug-off".
• The name was consequently sold for a relatively cheap price without asking around for offers. The negotiation process should have caused alarm bells. When a deal is too good to be true, one should always investigate the situation.
• Beast did little effort to investigate the name or its whereabouts. He knows very well that the name is very rare.
• The name selling protocol was evaded. There is a reason these mechanisms are in place. It was put on the avoid list for a reason.
• He felt something was off, but instead of waiving the transaction, he tried to create a protection net by DM'ing techie and Bold. Him talking to Bold and Techie did not exonerate him from his duty of investigation. In fact, it pleads against him in this case, because it substantiates the point that he felt that something was off. We felt that him contacting Bold and Techie was the equivalent of him trying to prepare his defense in case of a report. Especially the DM with Techie was taken out of context and a relatively vague question was asked (to which Techie answered with a vague answer - vague questions deserve vague answers).

The cumulation of the considered factors leads us to our conclusion that Beast has breached his duty of investigation as a name seller.

With regard to punishment, staff felt that a TWC is at the very least sufficient. Thus, a TWC will be applied, which Beast can appeal in 30 days.

Beast can consider himself extremely lucky that a DNT is not applied, although one may also easily apply the previous reasoning to come to that conclusion.

As mentioned earlier, the damages have already been offset by the factual developments. Nevertheless, we do not preclude that these accusations might be a setup, so in the situation where the developments would have been different, we should have requested convincing evidence of a hack, amongst others. In this instance, there was no sufficient evidence for the hack.
