    I agree with gohan.
In my first week on Sythe I was infracted.

    The reason:
somebody asked a question, I replied with an answer which was only 1 word but yet fully answered the question.
I got infracted for spamming because I should have wrote something on the lines of; "The answer to your question is".

    Edit:
Just checked my user cp and I have another for the exact same thing!!!

    Best skill cape with a... 10-19-2010 03:33 PM 11-18-2010 02:33 PM 1 Spamming

    I removed the mod name.

My post on that thread was completely on topic, yet I got infracted for it.
It's hard to become well known and trusted on the forums if amature mods just hand out infractions.

Just reversed it as it was minimal.

Anyways they are nothing but warnings and shouldn't be taken extremely serious.

Depends on the situation. PIN sales/posts = 100% infraction.

    Free bump = infraction

Multi bump in short time = infraction

5+ bumps I only give out a double infraction for, rather then 1 for every post which is excessive.

The way I see it infractions are fine. Having an infraction doesn't really punish you in any way. And "Generally" after receiving an infraction or two for a certain thing you learn not to do it and take more care with your posts.

After an infraction, then I would. Lots of users PM me back saying they didnt know etc etc

Infractions are nothing more then a teaching tool.

Honestly ,this was dumb to post in the first place. Wasn't really a suggestion, you're basically right, I'm just a little hard headed. This can be closed ;)

I disagree. I think this is a veritable suggestion.

I've received some pretty silly infractions before, in which a simple PM or reply would have easily sufficed. I'd rather not waste the mods' times appealing an infraction, since I don't plan on accumulating many before they expire, but I still don't like looking at them...

You would waste time since most of the mods mob together so unless the infraction/ban is overkill you're fucked and have to deal with it.

I do not hate anyone i call bullshit as i see it. Every-time ive been infracted it's for a minor reason or there was multiple questionable posts but you guys seem to cherry pick. When a ban is issued mods steer away without knowledge of the case but not 1 mod gives X user the benefit of the doubt you guys ignore it and let it be done.

I don't support the staff and it needs a overhaul. When you stop handing out infractions like it's water and the rules are revised and reviewed members will be ''Against'' the staff or post hate.

edit: Also i can't stress enough no one should be above the rules or should be given exceptions admin/mod or not.

I agree on some parts of this debate, infractions should not be given for simple mistakes if there is no section for them to be disputed.

If anything small mistakes should be given a warning instead of an infraction.
I myself haven't been infracted but I suppose they may be easy to obtain accidentally. (accidental double posts etc.)

    Be less aggressive on infractions

I've got 3 pages of infractions. They do seem to get handed out like hotcakes. You have to walk on eggshells around this forum.

    Private messaging infractions.
I got infracted for replying to a dumb-ass PMing me about apparently 'spamming his thread' while it was completely on topic. I then got infracted for telling him how it is by replying to him in a PM.

As for the multiple bump thing, couldn't you just warn people on their thread not to do it. It would take like 20 seconds to post, and save all the aggro of them PM'ing you asking about it etc etc.

I don't want to turn this thread into a total bitchfest about infractions, so i'll stfu.

Tl;dr: Some infractions handed out are dumb. Warn people before infraction.

Firez, You hand infractions out like you enjoy handing them out. Calm down a bit. So many people have been complaining about how strict you are.

I got infracted for warning people of a account seller being extremely dodgy, 1 week later i went back to check the post i got infracted for and the OP that i was warning everyone of was banned for scamming, How the hell is it fair to infract ME for warning people of a scammer. Flawed thinking.

Sir, I have only overturned less then 5 infractions my entire time here. I am one of the lightest infracting mods on this entire site. I delete spam and almost never give infractions for it in OT.

Market wise I give out more in there then anywhere else. Tell those people to stop complaining and learn how to appeal an infraction via PM's. I don't bite.

Was i part of your 5? you seem to not know what you are doing. You claim it's spam i point out it's not spam you change it to flaming/derogatory remarks which again if i had flamed him he prob wouldn't of taken it lightly and it's only derogatory to people that kiss ass.
you either making it up as you are going along or don't know which one it is.

No i don't want to appeal a infraction via pm i wanna do it in public where people can see my response and yours.
