Steps:
1.) Sign into the Xbox Gamertag you want to change your ID or password on.
2.) Press the guide button in the middle of your control.
3.) Scroll to the far right tab that reads, "Settings."
4.) On the "Settings" tab, scroll down and select the "Account Management" button.
5.) Now scroll down and select the "Windows Live ID" option.
After getting through these 5 steps you will now be prompted to change either your Password or Windows Live ID.
(Both are located on the same screen)
Changing your password:
1.) Select the "Change Password option.
2.) You will now be asked to insert your current password once, in order to verify the account is yours.
3.) The next two empty boxes will ask you to enter in a new password. Make sure that you enter your password EXACTLY the same both times.
Capitalization matters!!!!
4.) After filling out all three of the required boxes, select the "Change Now" option.
5.) If you have successfully changed your password, you will get a message pop-up that reads:
"Your Windows Live ID password has changed.
You can save your password so you don't have to enter it when signing in to Windows Live services. Save your new password on this console?'
6.) You can either select "Yes" or "No" but I would recommend doing so because it is convenient.
Congrats! You have just changed your password!
Changing your Live ID email:
1.) Select the "Change Windows Live ID" option.
2.) You will now be asked if you have an existing Windows Live ID that you want to switch to.
Note: I would recommend setting up a new email on live.com before you actually get to this step for convenience.
3.) Select "Yes, I do" and you will be prompted to enter your current password associated with your account.
4.) After typing in your password you will now be able to add the new email and password to your account!
5.) Select the "Sign In" option at the bottom of this screen and the "Yes, Change."
Congrats! You have just changed your password!
