Staff posting in Spam Forum

When staff post in the spam forum about "serious" stuff or when they want a serious answer, they are just asking to get trolled, then they ban the person. It is the spam forum. If they really want a serious answer post elsewhere.

 

I don't think I have ever seen you in the spam forum to begin with, nor have I ever banned a user for trolling me.

 

Obviously you're referring to some specific issue so it'd be best to include it in your posts. If what you describe really is the case, I agree entirely.

My bad day resulted in numerous bans, and Started from the bottom... just started

 

Well, specific instances work for things. Don't speak for all staff.

Well Richard can ban whoever he pleases. It's his website and private property, so I can't say much about that.

Staff are held to the code. If Bootylove was banned only for that post (http://www.sythe.org/community-general/1529719-where-did-name-here-go-31.html#post12114170 ) that is strange. The staff need to justify that response according to the rules or unban him. It's not a big deal- people make mistakes. Administrators have to accept they'll be trolled at some point and leave the spam forum if they don't want to take part.

DJ, the action does speak for the whole staff team by not reversing it...

 

Well I don't think this speaks for all staff, you as well as I know that not everyone is up to date on things. I don't sit on here as you didn't as an admin and know of everything that goes on 24/7 this was quite new to me.

 

Yes you're right, but until it's reversed the action of one staff member(especially an admin) represents all of Sythe.org and all of the staff team.

FireZ is a reasonable guy and we may not know the whole situation. He'll probably post a response here and offer an explanation.

 

Well it puts globals in a bad spot since we can't just reverse all these bans done by admins, expecially Richards. I haven't kept up but I do understand the staff as a whole should remove these bans if they were just from posting,

 

Fair enough, yeah. As long as there's some sort of internal discussion (and preferably an external response from Firez here) the issue should be resolved without any real harm done.

 

I didn't want to clump all the staff together but i also didn't want to attack either Sythe or FireZ. It was more directed as a whole so other staff members that may have done the same thing are included.

Again it's not to hate on the two, it's just me sharing my discomfort on the issue.

 

Well I haven't seen any internal discussion about just banning people for it.

 

maybe there should be. Especially if they are posting in the spam forum. If they want an honest non troll response they should post it in community general or general off topic.

 

If a staff member posts a serious thread and states, don't troll or take this seriously.. just do so. It's not hard to grow up for a few minutes and move on.

As for Sythe, why would you grief the owner of the site? Duh. Most of them had plenty of warning after the first ban.

 

Sythe (Richard) can ban whoever he wants to on the site. If he wants to ban people, delete them, do whatever then he wants. It his website so he can do whatever he wants with it.

FireZ I think would only ban for personal insults if it was getting really personal. I mean you'd have to try pretty hard to get banned that way if its personal insults. He usually bans scammers + vaders, but most of the time he doesn't give a fuck.

As for the other staff, I don't think I've seen any other current staff member ban for personal insults.

The SF is a place FOR trolling. If a staff member wants to make a serious thread then make it outside the SF. For example if its something like PS then it goes in the Personal Support section.

I referenced FireZ's thread because he stated "my aim is ready" hinting that he would ban anyone that was "disrespectful"

but all that could have been avoided IF he posted in a more appropriate area.

Posting there is asking to get flamed, trolled, and harassed.
