When I joined this site, I never imagined I'd do 1/10th of what I have been able to accomplish around here. I always joke about "retirement" from staff. I will stay on the staff as long as I and they (the staff) think I can still contribute. I made 2,000 posts as a non staff member and over 19,000 afterwards, many from reports and disputes ofc. Where will I end up in post count? Vouches? Who knows. Even though I accomplished a lot, I am not done around here just yet.


Some days I wish I was a global mod again. Why you ask? I was much more free to run around and wreak havoc on the scammers and ban evaders etc. I know some of you would prefer me back as a global mod, not because I didn't deserve admin, but because I watched the market much more then the average Global over the past few years. As an admin, I am not supposed to be owning scam reports or the dispute forum etc as these are Global duties. Admins have their own duties to do as well, which I am finally getting back into the swing of doing regularly. I didn't do as much "admin" work as I thought I needed to and was capable of these last few months, and I plan to keep up from now onward.

Critics have criticized me before for doing Global duties (aka scam reports/disputes etc) as an Admin. As long as I keep up on my admin duties I am free to help out where needed. This month (March 2013) I am owning the dispute forum, I have more then double the # of disputes handled by anyone else and pretty much 40% are handled by myself. Thats a huge chunk to put on one person. Globals have done 59 disputes this month, 48 by one global alone. Sectionals combined have done 147. I myself have done 147. This isn't a whos dick is bigger contest, I am just stating facts. I consider myself an admin but also a utility player. I insert myself, get my hands dirty and bloody whenever needed. I have the ability to forsee where we need help and then go do something about it. I will NOT defend myself on this ever again. (unless the staff inquire me about it).


Critics like to say I am an asshole, too blunt, big meany, rude, disrespectful, whateverwordyoucancomeupwithinserthere. Theres no doubt I am blunt, straight to the point with zero bullshit involved. I dont sugarcoat things for people. I live in reality, not some candyland on Mary poppins boulevard with sunshin and rainbows. I call it how I see it and that you can never take from me. Also I think another contributing factor to this hate is I am by far the most "Public" opinionated staff member of all time. You don't see me running with my tail between my legs on pardons, I state exactly what I think whether it ruffles any feathers or not. I also am very hard on people on pardons, mainly because when I smell bullshit, I call it bullshit. Banned users often think they can pool wool over our eyes or write up some sob story with 70% of the information in hopes of getting unbanned, well news for them it doesn't work, if ever its rare. I am however trying to tone it down some and say things still in a blunt, but nicer way.


The most critical thing that really irritates me is this one - FireZ doesn't care about the community, he hates the users, if he doesn't like it why doesn't he just leave?


Yes your right I hate the community, thats why I am still here on my 4th year at Sythe /sarcasm. Besides Matthew, I am the #1 donor collector of all time at well over $10,000.00. I took the torch from Spyike and ran with it. I am sure I will be passed eventually, I don't care. I have banned over 4,000 malicious users, probably handled almost more scam reports then anyone of all time, including 650 scam reports in one month alone. That record I can assure you will never be touched. When its all said and done I will be #1 in the dispute forum as well if I am not already. I have protected this community countless times, and will continue to do so. I have over 45,000 mod actions (34.3k which count). I have put forth more time and effort then most would even dream of into this site. I want nothing but for this community to flourish, and honestly I think users who say I hate it are simply just trying to stir up shit.

No matter how much I might not get along with user X or user Y I will still lay down and break my back for each and every one of you if I believe its the right thing to do. Thats just the way I am.


I am not god here, I am far from perfect, not even close, but I am just trying to do the best that I can, and I hope you guys respect that.

But on the real, What motivates you do continue this journey? Even a police officer retires eventually, knowing crime is still happening.

 

Global would suit you better because the red rank / UI would go along with your other ranks. (red is my favourite colour)

And yeah, I've never had a problem with your attitude. If anything its funny (in a positive way)

I'm not having a bad day, it doesnt matter what type of day I am having I can still speak my mind anytime

I figure I still have the ability to do whats needed, and reports wise - I can almost bot those things now because theres hardly nothing I havent seen. I do get burnt out every once in awhile, I just back off for a minute then step back in and go back to work

 

As much time as you have to spend on Sythe to do such a good job, what about your personal life/social life...Job...College...Girlfriend..etc? You would have to spend 40 hours or so a week on Sythe.. Thats just a lot of time imo.

I may not be an old fag around these forums, and I may not be the most active person whilst I have been here. But from what I see of my scam reports that I file, you and superman seem to take care of the most. I always see you contributing to the community one way or another.

Whether or not that is in your job title as an admin, I believe that you personally, should have the rights to go on and continue what you're doing. I mean for example; as stated by yourself, and I quote:

That's 4000 scammers/spammers/hackers etc etc, that shouldn't have been here! not to say that if you didn't do the honors of banning them that they'd still be here, but they surely would have been around for that moment longer to scam more people.

This is a great achievement, and to pull you out and say that you are unable to continue with these duties would be pulling a major person out of getting rid of malicious users. I do understand that you are allowed to do so, so long as you fill your duties as an admin, but in all honesty, what is your current role as an administrator? maybe you really are better suited as a Global?

I'm not saying you don't fit the role, but if that's what you really love doing, and perspire to take down more malicious users, being a global, you could solely focus on this area.

At the end of the day, you are doing a great job and I respect that. (Sorry if this is too serious for spam forum)
