Banner background - CnC Please

I just made this for an RSPS site.

Well when I added text it looked worse, I just like the background.

It looks sexy. I love that shade of purple, it fits perfectly

 

No offence, but there is no skill in this. It's JUST C4D's, diagonal lines, and a elliptical shape going across which really shouldn't have a strong drop-shadow.
But then again, it looks sort of good.

 

Like draucia said this isnt that great..i mean you wouldnt need that much skill to throw in some c4d's scan lines and lighting, its just an oversized userbar, but it seems to look good.

On the contrary, I remember spending hours for an outcome worse than this a few years ago.

The placement/positioning is nice, just try to make one point in the banner the most interesting, obvious and "nice to look at", and then add the text there (the text has to fit in though, try various fonts/styles/kerning etc).

Sure it may be c4d's and scan lines, but at least your colouration's working pretty well.

Thanks for all the positivity, it means a lot. If I want to make an area for "nice to look at", should I enhance the lighting effects more... Darken the sides and brighten the center type deal?

 

Lighting/sharpness (sharpness isn't always how sharp something is, it can be how blurred things are relatively to that, such as blurring out other parts) etc.

 

Well it's better than the crisisx layout tbh, atleast you put thought into it and not just CRISIS in like times new roman and then X in red text with different font.

 

Looks a little off-center and for the graphic eye you can tell it's just a bunch of C4Ds plopped together nicely which is a little of a put-down.

 

I like the color scheme and the placement of the c4ds but I don't like the scanlines, I can't stand scanlines on most things unless they're done well.
