banned for sniping?

To my knowledge it is not against sythe rules to 'snipe' a name? If the person selling the name is incompetent and cannot do it fast enough, then the name should be fair game when it is being transferred.

I re-read the sythe rules and it doesn't state a ban for doing what I did

You're not allowed to snipe names that are being sold on Sythe. That's been a rule for quite a while.
