Banned for OpenOSRS

Has anyone gotten banned previously/recently for using OpenOSRS? I'm not talking about any pvp client plugins/auto prayer switchers you can get for the client or anything like that. I'm just wondering if you can get banned for just using the client? (If Jagex can detect it).

I currently use OpenOSRS for the gauntlet overlays and COX helper but I dont use any auto switchers or anything just strictly overlays.

Curious to hear about your experience / input!

nah jagex cant detecty overlay stuff since ya know, thats all client sided. And no they dont ban you simply for using OpenOSRS.

im sure if you read further down, 1013 was actually unbanned.

all the bans from OPRS come from people using automated stuff, people using overlays etc do not cop a ban.

 

I have been using OpenOSRS for a long time never been banned.

 

Only because it was someone else on his account lol

I know a few people who have used overlays for nm/hydra/cox who have got a ban

 

if they purely used overlays, I'm calling bullshit.

 

You can call it whatever you want, it's not like you know for sure and there's a JMOD who literally says not to use openRS because it's a cheat client.

 

Given it’s an “overlay” that uses the exact same methods that every other overlay in game uses, please tell me how jagex are going to distinguish one overlay from another?

They cannot detect overlays (otherwise every single person with any kind of overlay, would get banned - most overlays use the same overlay layer, the same priority and position).

if the people you “know” got banned for using “overlays” then their either got tipped off to jagex with proof (screenshots or videos) or used automation.

You can’t get banned for overlays, simple as that.

 

You can only use overlays on cheat clients which are detectable and confirmed bannable, so what is your go around?

 

you can use overlays for stuff like nex, inferno etc on runelite too if you build your own client, or use a prebuilt one.

overlays also exist, as standard, on runelite?

you were saying people got banned for overlays, im simply proving that thats 100% bs.

oprs also isnt bannable as a a standalone, out the box client, its the plugins people use that make it bannable.

 

A JMOD literally confirms it to bannable as a standalone, why are you ignoring this? I'm saying you can be banned for using overlays through association with using cheating clients as proven by the statements of many including the OP.
