Bank Bidding? Dafuq?

Seems like Jamflex have totally lost their marbles.

Apparently on Runefest stream they talked about bidding for items off of a banned account. While I could see the money sink potential of this I could also see how it would be disastrous, as most players are banned for botting or RWT.

Seriously Jamflex memes more and more over the years. Runescape 3's updates are getting stranger and stranger.

What do you think about the potential of this?

 

I believe it will just help the rich become richer.
Will possibly decrease the price of rares as well? If they are able to be brought back

 

So I think it's been said rares get put back on GE after someone notable gets banned, but I'm not sure.

Either way, even if that's true, I'm not seeing how this is a good idea. While it could be a money sink, I'm not so sure this is the way to do it. Too controversial.

Ahh i'm not to sure then myself about the rare thing. It was just shown in a picture by them I believe though, but just could be for show.

Rares do get put in GE when an account is banned. At least, until this update comes into effect. That's why max cash offers can go through once in a blue moon for, say, a white phat.

I'm going to laugh when people bid 20b on an account banned with 10m in bank though lol

 

I don't like it. I know Jagex owns RuneScape, but it irks me to know that they would do this; what's the point honestly? It's just gonna make the rich richer, or lose a lot of money - but still be really rich in comparison. It's not something that everyone can participate in due to own bank value. I think Jagex needs to focus on its whole community, not just something that the richest could do.

 

This is not a money sink. It is counterproductive if you're interest is the removal of wealth from the game.

It will lessen the amount of wealth taken from the game, because people aren't going to overbid a bank.

 

Well I don't think people would see the contents of the bank. Therefore Jagex could design it to potentially be a money sink.

Also if this is the way they implement the system, people won't bid highly on accounts they aren't sure have high value. Therefore, the ones who get lucky and bid under will end up with profit, when the contents of the bank could have been completely removed.

 

I just want to know what drugs the dev that came up with this idea were on lol. This sounds just completely ludicrous.

It is easier for newer players dawg. 2016 RS3 is EZscape. Has been ezscape for years.

Inflation is a bitch but with enough dedication somebody new can get to where people are today.

 

In reality 99% of these accounts put up for auction will probably have 10-50m banks. Not worth the potential over-bidding. If people want to risk their gp, they'll likely stick to staking. The hype over this will die down quickly.

 

It was voted no on a majority poll, so I doubt it will come into the game.

I kinda like the idea, I think it would be fun to splerg some GP every now and then for a surprise bank.

Tbh its such a bad idea to bring into the game as it will hurt the economy so hard and the price of gold so much since maybe someone bids like 10m on an account and gets like x4 party hats that would ruin the market of rares drastically as more will come into the game

 

You guys saying it will ruin the game but don't realize alot of people were banned PRE-EOC, when claws were 16m, not 200k or whatver the fuck they are.
