Bancor pre crowdfunding

I secured a $2100 investment today, hoping to at least double it. Hopefully it will go the same way as BAT.

 

It's a pretty ambitious ICO. Nonetheless, I think it's tech behind it is good, but I'm unsure on whether that is enough to push out competition. It's one to keep an eye on.

 

They will be used to create new coins, in addition they will provide the ability to pair any token that is created on the network. Everything will be paired to Bancor, and Bancor will be paired to Etherium. This provides the liquidity for the exchange

An example would be you have a token created by a local business (local coin) . However you are traveling to Seattle and want to buy a local coffee chains token to buy a cup of coffee at a discounted price when you are there (coffee coin).Normally there would have to be someone selling those coffee tokens so you could buy them. In addition, They would also have to be willing to get your local tokens in exchange. Instead you enter the Bancor network exchange where it automatically changes your local coin to Bancor, then to the Coffee token. You don't have to even see or understand the process as an end user, the Bancor network exchange does it for you.

Think about all the steps you have to take to buy a new token right now. You have to buy bitcoin with fiat (can take days) then you have to move it to an exchange where they sell the token you want (you pay a fee) then if you don't want to keep your tokens in the exchange you have to pay another fee to move it to a more secure wallet.

Now imagine Bancor where that happens automatically for you. The idea is they will be able to do this with all ERC-20 tokens
