I don't see what's wrong with it. Not like your becoming trusted because 1 thread has 10k views. If i see a thread with 30k views and 20 post and the original poster has 20 post. I wouldn't trust who ever it is.

This program would be very useful for getting your website to be the first one on google. I just don't see the problem.

... that's not exactly how Google pagerank works... Unless you are trying to imply that Google has a way of tracking the page views of a random website.

Why does everyone assume Google is some god company that runs the internet?

I'm pretty sure he was just using it as an example. No need to get offensive.

Examples have to be valid, or else they aren't relevant at all. No sense in basing any sort of case off of a misconception.

I could say, hey, this viewing bot could be used to help make a grilled cheese sandwich, so I see no problem with it because it can be used for good things. This, although an over-exaggeration, is just as irrelevant as any other invalid piece of information regarding the matter.

Okay sure. Your point is valid. But it can still be used for getting more views on your website/page/blog. I don't really care about the whole 'Google' pagerank thing anyways. I just don't want it abused here on Sythe.

I can agree with that, I believe a lot of other forums would file the use of something like this under "website abuse". It may even have adverse effects with AdBrite, as far as impression simulation is concerned, although I would think they would use unique impressions for there basis of payout and not simply impressions. At the end of the day, something like this is causing negative effects on Sythe, but is offering no positive result to justify it.

Exactly, and it could possibly interfere with Sythe's servers if a lot of people are to abuse this system. Although there's nothing to stop it, the banning of all viewing bots would be the first step.

    Ban Viewing Bots

Most viewing bots do not have adverse effects with/on AdBrite, Google Pagerank (pagerank is a whole different matter), or traffic.

More than likely all the bot does is make a request to one single page, not the images on that page, nor the scripts on it. All that's being transferred from sythe and back with these bots is raw html, which is typically not that much and not unusually uses less bandwidth than many images here.

Why do I say all this? Because these bots are useless. More views on your thread does not warrant any type of respect or safety, and everyone seems to get that. It does not have any negative effects either. I say they should not be banned, but the buyer should be ware that these bots are USELESS and that's it.

No point in banning (or buying) it if it's useless and causes no harm.
