    Ban rsbuddy gifting/make a sticky

I requested this thread be reopened to point out some outlying pieces of information

-Rsbuddy has removed gifting feature from the site
-Rsbuddy has prohibited gifters from logging in and purchasing scripts for other users.
-Rsbuddy does constantly ban users who have had others purchase scripts for them

The actual reason gifting was closed was due to many users coming on to the forums only with the intent of scamming. With cheap prices, they would quickly gain reputation; further boosting their sales. In a time-frame of 1-2 weeks they would sell hundreds of dollars worth of scripts and then do one massive chargeback.
    *cough*

Gifters also have the ability to recover newer and clean accounts using their proof of transaction. Allowing for total resale of recovered property.

In addition, when a user is banned for bypassing the gifting restrictions they have no way of knowing whether it was due to being caught, or whether the gifter simply charged back. This could easily create unsolvable conflict in the report a scammer section.

The same issues have the potential to spread here if nothing is changed.

I am not merely suggesting that the sales of scripts be banned, but simply that users are informed.

Please consider all of this information.

No support, your missing the point why he banned scripts.

I'd also like to direct people to the rsbuddy "Site support" section. Threads about people getting their auths removed due to the gifter charging back on a purchase made months ago are popping up daily.

No support. As long as the trade is safe, it should be allowed. Like everyone else said, should we stop selling RSGP just because Jagex says it's illegal?

Everyone seems to be overlooking the point that these services have at least as much scam potential as nexus auths.

With a MM it could be very safe.. but...
It's impossible to gift. That should be enough.

MM or not the gifter has the ability to chargeback up to 2 months down the road. How many scripts do you think someone could sell in that amount of time?

Thank you for requesting it do be reopen. Many people don't grasp the idea that is not allowed to gift scripts anymore. And people can chargeback no matter what

Can the person gifting a script charge back threw paypal? If so I say ban the sale of them. If not keep it because it seems safe way to trade

I vote close this thread so a new one can be made, this one has a lot of old info/posts from before the change and people who weren't aware not supporting it for the wrong reasons (people like me at first)
