    Ban evasion query.

Hello, I've been browsing a few threads around this forum and I've noticed that people who evade bans and just simply create a new account each time are very common. I am sure there is a good reason why IP bans do not seem to be given so please tell me that that is?

    Thank you.

    Ban evasion query.

Some user's IPs are from their college, others use proxies.

That's all I can think of why they aren't IP banned.

I.P. bans are given, people just use proxies to get around them.

IP bans are a waste of time, generally.

This. Considering you need a new I.P to create a new account on the forums (Only one account per I.P), people trying to evade need a proxy or another address to register anyway. So they just end up using that to dodge getting caught.

Most ban evaders are people that have evaded countless times before, they'll just keep coming back.

As long as there are dynamic and shared IPs as well as proxies its pointless to ban IPs.
