Avatars next to threads

Why is there the submitter's avatar showing on every forum? I think that the forum looks worse than before. Thoughts?

 

Half of these are completely empty which makes it even worse.

 

I love it actually once people have an avatar, those who have the default (no) avatar looks kinda bad.

 

I am still kind of inbetween about if I like it or not, but will take some time getting used to it anyways. I ll judge later

 

No. It looks awful tbh. Just makes the site look messy.

Give the forum a better look, people with avatars will get more clicks, I assume.

 

I kind of like it tbh, but I agree the no avatar grey block looks bad.

 

I'm not a big fan of it personally, but I can see the advantages of it in the market forum.

 

Can the default avatar picture be changed to match the background so the avatars on the forum don't look retarded? @Sythe

 

I'm assuming this should be possible as it's sure possible on different forum softwares, however this may look worse on different locations.

 

I feel that it's just going to be a bit until people come and update their avatars. People that are inactive we won't have to worry because their threads won't be bumped. I think just waiting is fine.

 

The rsps section gets a lot of vaders and stuff so I feel like it's gonna get clogged with a lot of black avatar spaces. I agree with Msn maybe make random default avatar pics?

 

pretty minor complaint ATM. IMO it looks great. Makes the forum look more up to date and crisp. I agree with what PA says to on threads with avatars getting more traffic

 

Personally I like it. Brings more life to the forum view.

Looks kinda messy atm because there are so many blank boxes, maybe the default avatar should be changed for users? The avatars also seem smaller than it was in the old software even though it's 200x200 now.

 

Tagged Rich, maybe he can give you an answer. However, I doubt this is something that will be looked into atm, as there are other more pertinent issues to solve first.

Avatars will be 150x150 for donors after the majority of the bugs are solved. The avatars give your posts a face and would probably get more clicks over blank avatars. I like them.
