Avatar the last airbender

I know I know technically avatar the last airbender doesn’t fall under anime or manga, but what does everyone think off the series if they have watched it? Personally my favourite cartoon series, good amount of adult humour, loved it.

 

Definitely one of the best TV shows of its time that was aimed for kids IMO. It has a lot of good scenes and funny scenes.

 

everyone loves the original avatar. its not even a question that should be asked. Korra on the other hand...was just ok

 

Everything about it is pretty much perfect I reckon.

And we shall not talk about the movie too, but I’ve never actually seen the legend of Korra because I’ve heard it’s not the best. The original I’ve collected the box set and started collecting the books too

Last Airbender was one of the best series I watched

Don't ruin it by watching Korra

 

I recently rewatched it since it got added to Netflix's catalog, and it still holds up incredibly well. I feel like some shows aimed at kids are patronizing to their audience, but not Avatar. It touches on serious topics in a very effective way. The world building and characterization are on another level. Zuko, to this day, still has the best redemption arc I've ever seen.

 

I’ll talk that down as a note, is korra really that bad??

 

it really does hit every spot, to be honest wish they would make a series after the aftermath of the fire lord, I know they have the books on what happens after, but having a series aswell on it,

 

imho ATLA was aimed at kids, but isn't a kids show.

I'm not talking about it being PG 13 or whatever, its more so the deeper meaning behind stuff + uncle iroh

 

so true though, goes into so much depth, uncle irohs is some sad shit man :’( the way how he has changed after he’s sons deaths, changed him for the good.

 

Even as a child something about avatar just made me want to go outside instead lol

 

I've watched it at least 20 times in full, and about 5 times for Korra. Big fan!

 

Legendary show, even got my super picky girlfriend to binge it with me.

 

we're blessed with such a show. the next generations might not even know about it

 

I tried this but I couldn't get into it, I'm super into the old school one and it clouded my judgement
