Here is my idea; the AutoMerchant.

While we all wait patiently for our February 1st, we all remember the good times. PKing, selling buckets for 100k to the desperate noobs, and, merchanting.

Well, what if there were a bot that allowed you to AutoMerchant all day?

I will be the first to admit, I do not understand the technology behind what operate a bot. But, I know that it is possible to make bots next to untraceable.

This is how the basic functions would operate:

-Selects a specific item you may wish to sell (stackable, noted, rares etc.)
-The bot auto talks at a human rate, while is able to make errors in spelling as well (this would give a good auto ban)
-Sells the item at a specific price, or range
-Buys items at a specific price, or range
-Checks for the correct amount of gold, and confirms
-Finds and trades other players
-Responds with a thank you, after a confirmed trade
-Does not negotiate
-Detects the price range of the item (this is questionable though because the prices will fluctuate consistently)

Now I am sure that the actual bot (if it were to be created) would have many more positive features. But, there are some negative features, to every bot. Specifically this one has a huge problem, which could be corrected with the proper technology.

The problem is, that when you purchase an item for X amount, you may not be able to resell it for X+(profit). Because in the real World-2, prices jump, and prices vary.

Discuss, feedback, support, rant, whatever you feel like you may want to say, just make it on topic.

Thank you.

It's risky to use a bot that interacts with other people.
As soon as the crows knows about the Merchanting Bots they'll probably try to fuck them up.

Also, I'm not sure on how RSBot and Nexus are developed in the Trading interface (in other words, I'm not sure that it is scriptable to do trades at this moment)

great idea, unfortunately like what thr0wback said it is risky to have a bot that interacts with other humans human players being as unpredictable as they are.

Right, and there still is potential though. (I believe)

But I do agree with the JMod PMod thing. They will make some weird shit, but we still manage to bot anyway :D.

The bot would be easy to scam , possibly mistype money giving them more etc,

Wouldn't work.

I don't think it would be easy to scam. If it checks the price and confirms it, IE right clicks, checks amount and then verifies the amount. I think, that it would fall out of range of the other sellers prices, but not actually get scammed.

As far as mistyping, I am sure it won't. If a Gary's Hood autotyper can never mistype, at a moderately normal speed, then I am sure an advanced neXus bot could accomplish that as well.

I've seen garrys hood client mis type...

And you said it yourself , You know nothing about how bots are made..

This bot will be too complicated for what it does..its pointless and unpractical.

Right, again, still only a developing concept. Really, if someone would put effort to it, it would bring RuneScape to an entirely different level. I believe it is possible.

@Treyarch, hop out of my throat because I don't keep my wallet there. You need to relax man. You are not very optimistic, and plainly, you don't understand the values of profit margins and profiting in general. There would be a point, and wholesome purpose to the bot, otherwise it wouldn't even make sense to discuss it, right? I understand how bots are made, I can figure out what the code means and how it translates. I am just not a professional coder myself. I used to be associated with server development and coding, which, is among the same basis of coding. "I can put batteries in the remote, but I can't make the remote."

RSBots.net's Dung bot does everything
Room finding.
Key finding.
Boss finding.
Armour/weapon making.

That is nothing compared to a rs merching bot.
It would be simple.
It would auto type "buying whip 3m"
Someone trades.
It see's that (as it's in the "trade" chat tab)
It clicks to trade.
Once it see's the whip on the screen, it will "Offer x" gold
3000000, OR 3m.
It will then click accept.
If other player declines, it will notice.
It will start to auto type and repeat.

Selling would be the semi same.
"Selling whip 3.5m"
Someone trades, it sees.
It puts up whip
Once it see 3500k, it will accept trade

Etc...

:D Hey, you agree with me that he is an ignorant bastard!

Its not going to work.. The account will probably end up using too much money and you'll lose profits instead of gaining profits... Plus how is the bot going to know whom to trade and not keep on trading some fool and buy some random crap.

Your on the right track of ideas, but your suggesting that we make a bot for the easiest thing to do, thats how you know rs is getting lazy.

It would obviously identify the item, just like Perf Fighter would pick up the same item off the ground. Identification is already solved.

This is a terrible idea, learn to grand exchange flip...

Well, why not blend into the crowd and ge flip?

Haha, I thought the same thing. Literally it would ruin the game. But think of how great it would be, literally there could be a standard market of constant items and constant profit.

Why would u buy things off other players through trade though when you can do this with the grand exchange with even more ease? Yes you may remove the 10 whips per 4 hour limit, but how about you flip a variety of items instead. Of course there is also the 4 hour reselling limit too but there is a way to somewhat bypass that anyway. The "old days" of merchanting are not coming back. Even with free trade and wilderness returning, the game has changed tremendously since '07 and you really need to learn the ways of the grand exchange instead of wanting to have a bot that buys off players in trade screen. I could see this bot possibly working if it existed as I have seen merchanting bots for other online games such as maplestory and they seemed to have worked in the same way this would. But there is still the question: why would you buy in trade and not off ge and bot a skill in that time period instead? It's just as good or better for profits + the time saved from doing that put into a skill instead means more exp, faster 99s, etc.
