You have a good point, but I also took into consideration that there will also be people constantly changing and screwing with the prices in that GE now. The economy will, essentially, be reset entirely. Everyone will need to find a medium.

But, back on topic, I think it would be a good idea. Why not? Run it on a different account and bot skills on the other one. You can GE at the same time. But I am sure that people play RuneScape while they bot at the same time.

    ^^
Merchanting and the economy will most likely not change too much when free trade is out or not as much as you think it will. They are still keeping the "minimum" and "maximum" buttons which put your offer +/- in 5% of the guide price. Yes you can offer under or over this but I'm assuming most people will sell within this range for most items. Flipping won't change much; if a whip's guide price is 2.9m, I could buy them in ge for 2.85m and sell for 2.95mil for example. You will hardly need a bot to do this for you to trade people in the trade screen when you can just as easily sell your items in the grand exchange. Also trading other players with the trade screen may also not be as common as you think it'll be. With no junk trading + coins for items that are falling or rising, there is no need to sell in trade any more. You can put in an offer on the grand exchange for pure cash instead. Also players are allowed to sell the items in the grand exchange for whatever they want. They will have no need to use the trade screen. Therefore a merchanting bot is not a good idea.

It isn't that, "it's not a good idea," it is just one that need development, yet still has potential.

Ofcourse its possible; but not this:

A bot is a 'hack' with thousands of functions. A script is a list of functions that the bot does one by one. A script can only contain functions that the bot understands.

I dont think that there are any functions made for trading (And I'm talking about the trade interface; where you click accept etc).

If its NOT made, then your concept should be build by the bot's developer (unless, like RSBot, the bot is opensource and every1 with the knowledge can do it).

Ever see how bots can screw up on the login screen and loop?

Could be scammed for cash/amounts of items easily.

The reason bots do not know how to trade with each other is because bots do not NEED to know how to trade with each other -_-

Clicking trade with, accept, accept, cannot be much more difficult for a bot programmed to do that than it can be for a bot programmed to fish to click net fish here...
