See constant threads asking whether to use an auto clicker or a bot. Or if auto clicking is bannable.

History of Auto-Clicking

Auto-clicking is a program that is set up via a client such as Gary Allen (sp?) or something of the similar. You set up a randomize click timer and set it on the alch spell option to spam click it.

To the people asking if it's bannable, YES. Just google something as simple as "Auto click bannable runescape" and you'll see countless threads/articles stating it is. It's a 3rd party program that allows you to achieve an advantage over those that don't use an auto-clicker.

Botting

It takes common sense to know this is bannable. You can check out several botting clients such as TriBot, OSbot, etc. Not much to say about this.

Which should I use: Auto-Click or Bot?

Here is the main question nearly every nooby macroer on Sythe comes here posting about. "Am I going to get banned for auto-clicking?"

You have 2 options: auto-click or bot.

You'll have people tell you that you can get away with auto-clicking and that it's completely safe. However, it's a form of macroing and that is looked upon very negatively.

To me, you're more safe using a bot client due to the fact that you can set up intervals between clicks and more botting clients have Anti-Ban that helps with things such as alching. A bot will check your stats, open up your combat options, and many other options.

If you use an auto-clicker, you just set it on the Alch spell, and let it click away. You can set up intervals but to keep the cursor on that same spot for hours on end? Yeah right. Easy ban right there.

Conclusion

You more than likely won't be banned for either of these when alching, but in my opinion it's safe to use a bot compared to the monotonous auto-clicker. Be safe with it and you'll have no problems.

I wrote this in 5 minutes so sorry for errors and such. Post your opinions below.

I've been banned multiple times for auto clicking.

auto click, i've been using auto clicker in nmz since 70 attac def and str and now i'm 96 att str and 89 def. I use gary hoods auto clicker. I also use auto clicker for alching. Dont bot cause you know you'll get banned. Auto clicker is low chance of ban very very low

I've been doing well with just an autoclicker... Never been banned in rs for alching before, only for botting

So you 2 are telling me that something that repeatedly does the same thing over and over and over with out moving is less likely to get banned compared to its counter part that will click the spell, move the mouse, click spell, check stats, click spell, move camera angle, click spell and at different intervals?

Not saying you'll get banned using an auto-clicker, but much more susceptible to a ban.

Yes, people get banned in less then a day using bots, BOTS ARE DETECTABLE it doesnt matter what method you use. There all the same, Like I said in my last post i've been using an auto clicker for months and still havent been banned, people have used a bot for a day and get banned. If you want to bot go ahead and believe what you want but auto clicking works for me so im sticking to that. Everyone acts like they know how jagex actually detects bots but they dont and I doubt they detect bots by looking to see how much they move camera or click spells or switch tabs cause guess what, ALL CLIENTS DO THAT. Do the ban rates change? No

Bots, or bot clients are not detectable 99% of the time, that is just a rumor. If you get banned, it will be because of the script. Barton has a point though, there is no logical explanation to why a more bot-like thing such as a autoclicker should have a lower ban rate to something that acts more human-like.

It depends what bot you're using and what method. Alching you won't get banned.

Bot clients aren't detectable if you use the right one.

An auto-clicker is pretty much a bot if you want to get technical.

You probably won't get banned for doing either for alching, I'm just stating that it's safer to use a bot that has more variety and function.

I'll still sleep at night if you auto-click :)

Go on TriBot and look at some posts on some of the alching scripts and you'll see lots of bans. Anyway im done with this topic, its not going anywhere you keep botting i'll keep auto clicking :p

Could be expanded a little bit, a helpful thread though. I'll make sure to link people when they ask.

I got banned on my swapping account 3 months back because I accidentally logged into a botting client (I have shortkeys). I was perm banned within 30 minutes and got gg'd for around 3b. This is not the first time I have been banned just for logging on (And playing a bit) a botting client and this leads me to believe that jagex has some sort of detection of the client itself.

The only thing I can say is that auto clicking is much more safer than botting. I used a autoclicker and alched 50m+ mage xp on my main without any problems. Just make sure that you use random intervals

I agree with you 100% though it hasnt happened to me but its the only thing I could possibly think of. All these client devs say it isnt but I find that to be complete bullshit cause they dont know what jagex does. They try to add all these things like human mouse and check exp bullshit to make it seem like banrates will be lowered then when in reality nothing changes. Then there's other bullshit like play time, account age, ip. I've had 10 accounts banned on this IP, when I use a Proxy, VPS, or VPN ban rates dont change. I've had account from 2010 banned from just a few days of botting. People have botted for 3 hours a day and still get banned.

What client was it? Some of the newer/lower end clients are detectable.

How is it more safe? Repetitive clicking while on the same spot? Maybe throw in an interval here an there? How's that safer?

Depends on the client you use. There are plenty of wanna be botting clients that are detectable, but the higher used ones aren't.

I've botted an account from 1/1/1 combat stats to 50/65/45 recently, no bans what so ever. Botting is possible if you do the right things and know what you're doing.

I botted on oldschool for 3 hours and I got a 2 day ban. I autoclicked almost 24/7 in world 2 at the g.e and had no problems, autoclicking is safer than botting some other skills, botting clients could be also detectable etc....
