As you all may know our loving moderator, Rawr (or Austin if you refer to him by that), got banned recently. But not all of you know how unjust the ban was. I've seen mods talking about it, and I will not name any of them. About how the punishment does not fit the action.

Austin got banned for incorrect wording. For all we know, Austin may have changed his wording.

I mean, look at this "proof".

http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/7278/img0291z.jpg

For all we know, it could be scrolled up. And do you know that he didn't change his wording? No. He posted ONE picture. TWO LINES. He couldn't post the whole conversation?

I mean, it does look bad. But he honestly just wanted to help.
Look at Bence, the line before he said "Has anyone gave a fine fuck to look at that shit?"

It's not like Austin's like.. "There, you're unbanned. Sell me the account."

I'd like to ask you guys. Why did Bence report Austin? Because Austin infracted him for spam. This was all made because of rage. And what proof do we get? A PHONE PICTURE. TWO LINES OF THE CONVO.

Sometimes, I look through scam reports.. And they provide as much as 5 screen shots and they say it's not enough proof. And you get a guy that reports a moderator. A TRUSTED ONE. A HELPFUL ONE. A BELOVED MODERATOR. Reported with ONE phone picture?

The proof is so choppy. Honestly, I bet even the worst of photoshoppers can do something like that.

If any of you saw the dispute that Austin wrote, TWO moderators posted about how Austin gave poorly chosen words.. But the ban wasn't needed.
But what happened?
Moved.

Why?
So we cannot see what is actually going on.

Finn, I like you. You're a FUCKING AWESOME GUY ever since that feedback thread, tbh. But honestly, why not look into this further. I feel that you guys are trying to push this away. I mean.. We are all equal. Just because you're administrator of Sythe.org, doesn't mean you're better than us.

I think we deserve to know what is happening.

Finn, Austin has helped you with a ton of stuff.
I don't see why you can't look into this more..

I mean.. Honestly, Austin is one of the hardest working mods imo.
He leaves Skype cause we 'distract' him from doing pages and pages of spam reports.
He treated Sythe.org like this is his job. He treated it more than a job, he treated it like his life.

This isn't a regular old ban. I never did anything about Harped or BMTH, why? Cause they did something worth banning. But Austin did not deserve this ban.

You don't understand how many people are like, "This ban is BS..."

If anyone supports that they look into this deeper..
Post here..

Also.. If this thread gets enough support.. I will move it into feedback.

If anyone saw r33r3al's post, it was soooo correct.

He didn't bribe nor was he corrupt. Hell, even on skype(loksype) when he was the only moderator in there and knew nobody would say anything he STILL never leaked, never did ANYTHING bad. He was a great moderator, always was great on spam reports, respectable guy, and VERY trustworthy.

Not only that, but that should indicate a warning at best.

I am posting this from a first hand experience, the amount of time and effort that is put into some ban cases is ridiculous. A lot of people are banned for ludicrous reasons or banned with little to no proof. The fact that these people are getting banned yet others continue to scam and scam and slip under the radar is sickening.

The fact that this case isn't even being discussed (that I know of) is ridiculous. How can you turn your back on someone that has grown through the community, become a staff member, and then ban him and look the other way. Sad. Also the last time I checked, full screen chat logs were a requirement for scam reports...

It's being discussed, you really need to stop making threads about this JR.

Perception.. Although most close to Austin may feel one way, members that are not see his words as an abuse of Moderator powers. I know, everyone will disagree as you know Austin, however moderators are under constant scrutiny in every action/post we make. Although I can understand popular opinion in the threads such as this, the simple fact is consideration for the entire community is required. I have nothing against Austin in fact most can remember when I came to his aid. Moderators unlike members have zero gray-area when it comes to integrity and/or what may have been perceived by “any” member as an unethical post/action. This is the way it is and in all honesty, this is how you keep a legit staff.

However spyike, you are forgetting that it wasn't an actual bribe. You should read r33l's post.

Also, he was saying he would help him get unbanned. Is that a bribe?

This isn't that serious, mods have done more and remained unbanned.

It is what it is.. you see white, some to include me see black. Sorry, but I support action taken, however I will not dispute/go against a decision made by someone who has a long hostory of responsibility to all the members of Sythe. My advice would be to give this time. These threads sometimes do more bad than good. Austin knows part of this error is on his shoulders and has IMO been professional about it. We should do the same as it aint over till its over.

I understand what you are saying but when you ban someone solely on evidence as weak as this I find it ridiculous. What is the point of setting up rules if our own staff doesn't follow them.

I agree spyike, it's not over yet.

Austin still has a valid dispute in place, and we shouldn't really bicker about it until it happens.

one thing I feel though, is that members should have a say in someone's ban if we feel it was unfair.

I think the staff needs to listen to more opinions than their own.

As for Austins ban, I clearly don't support it. That's not because he's a friend either, if he scammed i'd support his ban. That's all we can say though, as the staff don't care for our opinions. Only the opinions of their own.

If I've learned anything from my time here as a sectional is that there is sometimes a heavy exchange in member opinion/feedback behind closed doors. Trust me, the staff you have in place debates your feedback each and every day. If anything, this is what I respect the most about the team of moderators you currently have staffed.

Personally this may be one of the times when I think somebody should be unbanned, yes the this does fall under corruption but the severity of the punishment is way over the top, if he did say "I will get you unbanned" then I would support the ban as he is being corrupted. But saying he will try to help to get somebody is completely different. At most the punishment should be a demotion + twc. But I think a unbanning with a twc is plenty.

Debating a ban/unban is much like a trial. One moderator can hold up the final decision which if done correctly can also change/impact other moderator votes. Sorry, but I favor moderators that see the facts before them and have no personal motives/promises which impact a decision. The idea of raising a review of a member's ban due to a trade is corruption IMO.
