[August 22] Eternity Client - Fastest Client Available

Great work

 

Updated, more or less a bug fix version, but I did add a fullscreen mode and a few "easier access" fixes to current features. Client should be just about seamless now.

EDIT: Grave and I are in partnership. Eternity will be hosted and supported on RSultimate.com; what that means is
- Client will have an auto-update feature
- A sponsor means more popularity which means plugins!
- Good support
- A fix for the IP displayer

 

I'm going to download this when I get on my desktop; it looks really good , I'll post feedback later. Thanks for this!

only problem I'm havin is IRC client doesn't allow for / commands.. like /identify for example which is a real critical command.

 

Hmm, are there any requirements to run it? If there are, you should post them so people know ;D

I have net framework 4.0 =/

 

When do you get that error? If you've got 4.0 you shouldn't have any problems, it requires only 3.5...

 

I get the error when I open the program. Then I try clicking the tabs on the sides but they give the same error as well =/

 

You still need to install .NET 3.5 since .NET 4 is not compatible with 3.5. Also, 3.5 applications will start if you have .NET 2 installed, but will throw an error once the 3.5 libraries are needed (.NET 3 and 3.5 are extensions of 2).

Got a question though, did you pull the applet to hide the ads or just move the browser about?

Also a got a bug for ya, when you are loading the news if you spam click the "loading news, please be patient" it throws and unhandled exception error.
You need to disable the textbox while it's loading.

Found 2 more, client crashes when you zoom out too much on the rs map.
And the irc randomly crashes the client. no idea what was causing the problem.

 

Flaming Idiots posted a nice control on Cruels which is basically the IE control scrolled down. I figured out a way myself to actually block the ads, but every now and then they come back (it seems to be random, not raised by an event). I'll fiddle around with it one day and try to get it working properly.

 

I'm gonna have a go at editing the html on the fly to remove the ad's altogether.
Dunno how it will turn out tho :/

 

You might be able to manage it but it'll be slow since the method will have to be re-instructed every now and then to prevent a write-over...I hope to God you're not making ES 3 in VB6

 

Haha nah, finally moved on to vb.net 2010. Starting to like it a fair bit. But no control arrays are a pain in the arse!

Not really, it's not an issue with my client. It's an issue with Internet Explorer...I'll look into making both a Firefox and IE based client for the next release.

Developing applications for Macs is the dumbest thing I could ever do. It's just a complete waste of time, since I'd have to do in Java, and if I were to do that I'd have to tailor to all sorts of new problems and also tailor to different types of operating systems such as Linux (this also means I'd have to make different revisions for x86 and x64, kind of like the RSbots stuff). It's way too much of a hassle for such a small project. I'd definitely do this if it were a bot, though.

 

Add png screenshots and automatic screenshot saving. Plus instead of printing the whole screen make it print the RS screen only. Other then that it's an amazing client
