I think you are an idiot due to the fact of how much you generalize. I am an atheist and I never preach atheism, nor do I have any problem with any people of any religion.

 

Religion and the existance of god is such a broad and easy topic to debate about its not even funny. My opinion is the universe was created from the big crunch/bang theroy where the previous universe imploded upon itself then exploded because of the massive density. Imagine all the matter of the entire expanding univerese in a ball no larger than your fist....

God is like a last resort for people to go when they dont or cant understand something. Like the evolution/creation of mankind. Since theres no records of what happened people just fall back on the God created it thing.

Atheism, as far as i can understand it is a group of people that somehow have stumbled away from religen and are lost trying to find a reason for life,

they try and prove there is no god(s) Because they simply want to prove themselves right.

Theist91, you seem to believe that Christianity is an innocent concept, perhaps even positive. It's not. Christianity and religion in general has a lot more evil deeds than Atheism.

Religious extremenists often unfairly take away peoples rights. Look at Jerry Falwell, the biggest douchebag to ever walk this planet - He closed gay and lesbian bars and clubs, banned pornography and threatened with Heaven and Hell. You have suicide bombers who blows themself and a bus of innocent school children up, to slay in the name of Allah. The Ku Klux Klan torturing and murdering black people because that's how they interpreted the Bible. And let's not forget that the Christian churches was the number one obstacle in the quest for giving women equal rights as men, as well as giving black people equal rights as white people.

Religious missionaries spreads a contagious disease, called stupidity. (And yes, I am fully aware of the fact that stupidity is not a disease, but a state of mind.)
They teach people to accept divine fictional forces and pray, instead of doing something which would actually make a difference. A man is sick, and he needs help. Christians pray for him, whereas intelligent doctors saves his life via medical science. What's next? Oh, that's right - It's a miracle of God, despite the fact that God didn't actually do shit, and the doctors did all the dirty work.

Instead of exposing people for religious propaganda, why not teach them true values? Such as evolution and atoms which pretty much disproved the Bible and the story about God creating Earth with a poof, 6000 years ago? No, science has already proved that Earth is over 4.6 billion years old, thanks to rock samples from within Earth.

My theory about ALL religious people being close-minded, ignorant mediocres still stands. I'm aware that stating this makes me seem ignorant, but so far every religious people I have debate with, have proved this theory right.

Religion's are fading away I think the world would be better if everyone was just athiests (even though i am christian) no more wars "In the name of GOD" no more people molesting over 100 children (except M. Jackson) but peopel need faith to keep them going It would also be fine If everyone was Christian (not catholic though.)

I don't understand soemthing about Christians people hating Athiests instead of jews (I don't hate jews or athiests) but if you believe someone is your god's son and one group of people murders your god's son wouldn't you try to kill that whole group of people?

I preach Atheism because I try to fight ignorance every time I see it. In my opinion, religion is ignorance, therefore I fight it.

Call me an idealist, call me a warrior of truth, whatever. I just enjoy crushing religious zealots in arguments.

 

I also debate atheists because i see them as quite ignorant, if you think god is impossible, there being no god is impossible. If god was never there, where did it all come from, if there was always something there, it must be eternal, and from nothing comes nothing, so something always had to exist, and nothing physical can last forever, therefore, i see there are greater things at work.

 

You can't really generalize that nothing physical will last forever since matter can't be created or destroyed. Who's to say that everything hasn't always been, but has been present in different forms?

 

Because something can't come from nothing.

 

I don't think it impossible for there to be some sort of creating force. I just don't think that said force is the benevolent God of the Bible/Koran, or even that it's remotely intelligent.

Perhaps the universe was born of the highest plane of reality; who knows? All that I can say is that no intelligent being would desire anything but an end to its existence, as an infinite being would already have thought every possible thought, and would have no reason to exist.

 

But that doesn't mean that there was ever nothing. If there wasn't ever a time when there was nothing, then physical matter would have to last forever, since it can't be created or destroyed.

 

Since its such an old religion, its like an old man. Should be euthanized.

Cstrike, you seem to have no clue as to what you are talking about. The ideals you believe in come from a false sense of security, and show no real signs of improving. You have not proven a point, simply made yourself look stupid. For one, you contradict everything you say, and yet flame others for not agreeing with your idiocy.

To go on and explain religion, or disprove it, is simply a waste of time. You cannot prove that somethng doesn't exist if it doesn't exist. Meaning, you feel that God does not exist, therefore you cannot prove that God does not exist without MAKING him exist. You are giving a name to that which you wish to disprove, and as such make yourself look even more like an idiot.

Furthermore, your attempt to disprove that which does not exist has undoubtedly shown your inability to argue. You try to fight, but all you can do is insult, making it seem that you are insecure in your own lifestyle and ideals. Thus, making your entire arguement, or attempt to prove anything, void.


To the topic... I believe some athiests preach as they do because they simply have a need for confirmation. If you can show an athiest solid evidence that they are wrong, unless they are insecure like Cstrike, then they will more than likely rethink all of their ideals.


The Christians who preach, and attempt to force a religion down your throat are as bad as Cstrike, (not trying to flame you, but you make a perfect example), as they are too insecure in their own beliefs, and feel that proving themselves right to another increases their own sense of faith. Letting either be right an arguement, simply gives them more reason to argue. You make them think that they are correct no matter what they do or say and that ensures that they won't be changing their opinion any time soon.
