I have a question.

Wasn't the whole point of Oliver fighting Ras was so that he could get the death bounty lifted of Thea, which would lift it off Malcolm Merlyn as well? So, in the recent epsiode, Malcolm says Ras is still after them. Why?

Also, the bounty was put on Malcolm due to Tommy dying in the undertaking, am I right?

 

Ras and the league knew Oliver was lying but accepted his challenge, Malcolm thought Oliver might stand a chance because if Ras is dead there is no bounty on their heads, Oliver challenged Ras to a trial by combat. I don't think the league knows Thea killed Sara Lance. Malcolm was blackmailing Oliver by telling him they would eventually find out what Thea did so he had to kill Ras, in the process Malcolm's name would be cleared if Oliver won.

I think the undertaking was part of the reason, but remember Malcolm also left the league? Leaving the league is hard to get out of (Just ask Sara). I don't remember if Malcolm left the league in good terms, or the undertaking played a role in him getting a bounty.

 

Apith summed it up pretty nicely, the primary reason for the initial bounty on Malcolm was because he left the League of Assassins, then it escalated to their supposedly belief that it was Malcolm who killed Sara.

 

Actually Ras released him the same way Nyssa released Sara. There was no bounty on his head until until after the undertaking, the bounty was put because of the undertaking. The league has a code and Merlyn broke it when he killed those innocent people.

 

Oliver fought Ras to protect Thea. He was given a deadline to turn in Sarah's killer or Ras would attack Starling City (League thought to be Merlyn if I am not wrong).

In order to save Thea, Oliver claims he killed Sarah then demands a trial of combat. It was not to lift off the bounty from Malcolm Merlyn's head. League still wants him dead for what happened in the Glades.

 

That Malcolm Merlyn centric episode was FANTASTIC!!!

Finally caught up on Arrow. I loved that last episode.
