Simple, are you SECURE about your sexuality?

By secure i mean, are you not afraid to express yourself in a way others might find Gay/Bi/Straight ( Depending on what your sexuality is to begin with ). Most GUYS tend to be extremely insecure about it, and aren't willing to even joke about such a thing as being gay. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing most homophobia cases are results of someone being insecure of their own sexuality.

I myself am extremely secure about my sexual standing, I'm straight, and I know nothing will change that. I have nothing against people who are homosexual or bi, and I'm definitely not afraid to be their friend, or to be seen with them due to their sexuality. I'm fine with wearing any color ( Guys in my town tend to think any bright color is associated with being gay, i own alot of bright shirts, and pink shirts ). I'm not trying to keep my appearances up by looking " masculine " what so ever.

I believe most people act masculine, just for appearances, when in reality, I believe most girls go after guys who are more secure about their sexuality, they tend to be more mature as well.

So, rate yourself 1-10 on how secure you are with your sexuality, 10 being the most secure you can get.

I'd definitely rate myself a solid 10, as I'm very secure. However im very interested about you guys :love:

 

Definitely a 10. I personally don't care what other people's sexuality are. I wish everyone could be the same :/... I've seen gay people get chased down halls, made fun of etc... But I don't think as soon as I say something is "gay" I should get a bunch of crap about it being offensive. People call me gay all the time and I take it offensive. Not because I feel being gay is a bad thing, but because that's NOT my sexuality. I'd feel the same if I were gay and someone called me straight.

 

7 I will joke around with friends but I'll stop it if it gets to far I'll put a stop to it.

 

Most people are around here, I definitely wouldn't kiss a man, but if someone who was gay managed to kiss me somehow, i certainly wouldn't have a break down either, though i would certainly find it a little odd.

 

Because of our nature as humans we get arroused when we see things that are associated with the act of sex. Therefore when we see a male/female sexual organ, whether you like it or not, your brain automatically associates that with the act of sex, and it will stimulate some arousal in the brain (yes, that means you too). We aren't exactly getting arroused because we like seeing the genetals (although some of us may be), but because it's associated with something that we have an extremely strong drive for.

Some people misinterpret this for homosexual feelings which causes confusion or insecurity about their own sexual tendancies. This is where most sexual insecurity arises in people who are not homosexual in nature.

That being said. I'll give myself an 8.5.

Completely agree, TripleSix. I give my self a 10. My friends and I use the word gay as a light insult but never let it go too far.

Just because your brain wants it, doesn't necessarily mean you do, hence the thread being about you being secure with your own sexuality.

Would never engage in relations with a man though.

 

Interesting but surely several people act differently to satisfy their ego in the eyes of everyone or due to social insecurities that might not have to do with their sexuality.

8 or 9 I think. I joke around with my mates and we have all the usual 'bum bandit banter' but I know when to stop and when it's appropriate. I certainly don't have a problem with anyones sexuality. (I'm straight by the way)
