Attracting attention to the new Realm of the Mad God Market!

Hey everyone.

I'm sure as many of you have noticed, the Realm of the Mad God section has been added to Sythe following a successful suggestion by Alesso. Hopefully we aren't too late, but now is the time to convince their community to use Sythe for there RWT trading now, as well as encouraging current Sythe members to use the forum.

What is the best way to bring these members over? Do we have some members here on Sythe who are influential and popular members on the RoTM forums? We may need your help.

 

One of the biggest things we need, is any active players of the game need to spread the word. Advertising bots wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but may not be the best either. As of right now, word of mouth is our best bet.

 

I think simply using the forums to create awareness of the fact that Sythe even exists might be the best move. People previously looking to RwT always used the forums when it was allowed so it can be advertised through that.
Think Y-Market spambots, but instead of linking to the homepage link directly to the RotMG forum

 

I actually tried the game out today to see what the fuss was about and it's good fun, already at level 5. (I know it's probably not that high.) But is advertising Sythe against the In-Game rules? I already tried to send one guy here who wanted to buy some potion off me.

But yes, word of mouth is the biggest key.

 

A good way is to become the number one RWTer for the game and dragging people to sythe to conduct business. You could also do some YT videos, get a bunch of followers and get them to come here, but that involves alot more work. Popularity gets you far, just look at what spyike managed to do. Sythe is already an established site, so its more convincing for people to use.

 

There's 2 key points we need to really focus on.

1. Our already existent users need to use the section. Honestly, this market is so quickly rising up again, I'm surprised more of you haven't invest money in the game. I myself have made at least 200$ this past weekend off of the game. It's even simpler than flipping RSGP, since there's such a variety in prices. If we have an already active section, it's more appealing than 4 posts a day.

2. Advertising. It's as simple as that. Once n4n0 and I find a working autotyper bot, we'll have most servers on realm covered. But doing things like PM'ing people on the forums at WildShadow, finding other sites with markets and refer them to our bigger, more modern one, and obviously spread the word among anyone you know.

Other than that, it's a matter of time. It won't be instant by any means.

As for that, there really is next to nothing in terms of in game moderation. Seriously, feel free to advertise as much as you want and in game on their forums. The only way to really get banned their is making about 15 threads saying SELLING AMMIES FOR PAYPAL RWT IS BACK lol.

 

I have been advertising here and there in game as well, it will work if more of us do it

 

If there was a section where I could discuss the RotMG market + the game in general, I'd be much more motivated to play and I would find it easier to enter the market as well.

 

I was going to suggest this myself. It would be great to have so people understand what they're getting into.

Yeah it really isn't as easy to grasp as other games so a section would clear a lot of things up.

 

Agreed with you three, we might as well since it's an addition to our site and we want to attract users and convince them that Sythe should be their go-to. More so, there are going to be discussion questions revolving around which armor beats what, what potion of what potion, etc.

 

I could possibly inquire about making a sub-section under "Other RPG's" for Realm, similar to the one that LoL has there.

Also, Myself, Alesso, BSGPSeller, and (maybe) Freakyhair would more than likely be willing to answer questions that you guys have.

I know x339 also played, as did wolfdog. I can't speak for the rest of them, but if I have the time, I'll gladly answer any questions.

 

Things like guides would also be much appreciated. I've gotten my warrior to level 20 but I'm still unsure about how to farm fame easily, or where to go for great items. Since RuneScape is no longer the most popular (free) game worldwide I think building communities for other games is a very good step forward. ^_^

 

Well, I'll tell you this. The godlands is where you want to be hanging out for now. Concentrate on finding potions to upgrade your gear as well as to max your stats.

Aye. Dave and I play frequenty, and anyone interested in playing is more than welcome to join us when we play. I just got a candycoated armor drop which is worth ~3 amulets ($3-4 each) - Not bad considering the key I bought to enter it was only $2.40
