    There are many, many forces changing Western culture and social structure as a whole. It doesn't boil down to just one thing. But there are certain ethnicities that do have more children and have more single mothers IE) Latin cultures

    @Tanged

    So you believe that single mothers are destroying the US economy for what reasons?

    It's entirely possible that single mothers may use more government funding than regular families, but I'm missing your opinion on the matter. The only information you have brought to discuss is an hour long you tube video of which I assume you're not the owner of.

    All I did was post a question and ask a question ; does not mean that it is my opinion on the situation .

    It is a question to be discussed.

    In my opinion single motherhood has no positive benefits but, it is not the only damaging thing to the economy.

    A video posted contains some opinions I may or may not agree with it is open to debate.

    I'm not going to bother watching the video, but due feel free to give the points. I am not really a fan of getting my information from youtubers as I am not sure of their credentials, their biases, whether I can actually trust anything they say, and overall find it a waste of time.

    Rather, I'm going to ask a more important question. Why would it matter if the social structure is being changed?

    As for the economy, the U.S. economy is a lot larger than single mothers. Even if they have a negative pull on the economy, they are definitely not destroying it.

    a = 10 $
    b= 10$
    c = childsupport
    a + b = c

    If a is missing ; the child is now miss half its resources.

    when 70+% of black youth do not growup with a active father they grew up with less resource which in return lowers their economic potential . This is from a pure finical perspective but physiological damage play a role also.
    Also dont watch the video you can google to topic or maybe discuss with a local prof.

    By definition single moms ; are single.
    which equals less resources.
    In the US the 2 parent household has been falling drastically.
    The sex of the parents do not matter;
    Children of lesbian or gay couples do fine.
    In the end 2 is better then 1 in most cases.

    This is my question? And it still stands.

    This entire fiscal outlook is skipping everything else that plays a cost of a child down to both parents. Even if there is one parent, why should they not be able to fully raise their own child and even if the scenario laid out is accurate, the problem selected in single mothers, not the system they are living in. They're inability to pay may stem from underpaid works, inability to access education, and so forth. The question is also asked, would the child exist in the first place if birth control and sex education was easily accessible?

    Economic potential does not equivocate to human potential. I realize in a neo-liberal society individuals are viewed solely as entrepreneurs, but ones life does not have to amount to economic potential. I am not sure on the 70% statistic (sounds much too high), but if that is the case (and even if it isn't) these are situations at least partially brought on by systemic injustices.

    Physiological damage is assumes the child is negatively effected. You cannot compare what is with someone that never was.

    I may bring it up in conversation, but honestly all my research at the moment is dealing with IR Theory and security studies and I do not have the time to truly look into this; however, I'll bring it up with a professor if we reach a topic that is closely related.

    Note: I will respond when I can. Heading off shortly and I am not ignoring your response.

    I dont want to throw abunch of google stats at you as I know you can just google them. Nothing I stated was wrong and you dont seem to disagree. Also this is not a moral argument. Living in a black community in the past I can tell from first experience no one got a dad but , this is purely my experience. ( when I say no one I mean 95% a dad is rare)

    CNN's Don Lemon says more than 72 percent of African-American births are out of wedlock
    (don lemon is more liberal if anything)
    This says born out of wedlock it still possible dad is active or moves in and out; from personal experience I would even say 85% but I don't speak for the black community as a whole.

    Rather, I'm going to ask a more important question. Why would it matter if the social structure is being changed?
    Also I guess you pose the question because you presume nothing.
    Social structure is required ; without it any pleb could come on sythe and pretend to be vouched and scam billions.

    If this dissolves into anarchy don't bother responding. Nothing personal but thats a empty conversation.( I wont convince you / you wont convince me/ would not be helpful or interesting to talk about)

    Black people are the extreme of this although white people also have been rising in single households.

    "Economic potential does not equivocate to human potential. I realize in a neo-liberal society individuals are viewed solely as entrepreneurs, but ones life does not have to amount to economic potential. "
    I don't care about human potential. A nice thief is still a thief.

    another thing ...
    Its not for us to make it easier to be single mother as a society its for single mothers to only make the choice to become a single mother if they are ready ( mentally and money wise)
    free or cheap abortion is the way to go
    As far as I am concerned if you keep it you dont deserve to complain or leach off because of it.
    Its kind of like you breaking your own leg to go on disability .
    Actually findout in some states you can just leave your kid at the police station and you wont be in trouble so if your to lazy to do a adoption manually theirs a option but still a gamble because now your setting the kid up to already be disadvantaged for your own convenience

    "these are situations at least partially brought on by systemic injustices."
    Just noticed you typed that; systemic injustices my ass
    there is people in jail with kids its true but most these guys arent fucking with their kids anyway.
    fathers being in jail in null stats wise they dont matter.
    guys are just dipping and these girls have shit selection skills when it comes to guys.
