Arcus Gets to scam $3000

Show me the evidence.

 

@R2, do you think that there is something that can be done besides waiting 6 months to resolve it? Surely there is a way to contact paypal and receive official notice that you can deliver the goods or w/e without retribution from Paypal.

Why not just ask the user in question to get the refund reversed?
This will prove if it's possible to have a refund reversed and if it does work, everything will be resolved

Arcus can always ring paypal explain the situation and authorize them to reverse the current reversal. Theres no additional risk what so ever because it's the existing payment.

 

You're not really comparing a 3K sale in 1 transaction to the apparent "100K" over the years right... Politics guys, it is that simple. People trust people way too much, money makes people do crazy things. You guys haven't seen the stuff I've seen. People I know (irl) have had legitimate businesses with good gross and net but end up screwing their partners up for millions. It happens, his ass should refund it just like any old bloke.

I was making an analogy. That ex-staff member was trying to act as if 3K is noting but that takes a lot of time to earn. That is more than some hard working people make in months. So for someone to earn 3,000 in one sitting, it can mean a lot, regardless of how much he has made in total. I just don't get why it has to always be about the past, I always try to live in the present. I'm trying to apply that same principle here as in this Arcus guy, regardless of who he is, vouches, whatever, can scam or do whatever just like any other old scammer. I think the rules should be even ground for everyone, regardless of the position, reputation, etc. That's just my opinion, feel free to disagree, I was just trying to use my example (irl) because anything can happen at any moment. You really don't know a person until their worst times, that is when people tend to change the most. Maybe he needed the money, and after he got it, he is trying to stretch out how long he could keep it? You never really know!

The seller should contact Paypal, and mention that the refund was initiated fraudulently. He should say that Arcus will agree with his request to reverse the refund. Arcus will call to confirm that he authorizes the refund to be reversed.

Realistically, this should probably work. They will need to ask for a manager on both of their calls, since a regular customer service agent will lack the ability to work out such a complex deal.

At the end of the day, the reality is that the onus is on the seller. He's the one who had his Paypal hacked, and he's the one who created this mess. He needs to provide a risk free solution to Arcus. It's on him 100%. He's the one whining to Sythe mods that he should be repaid, instead of being pro-active in finding a real solution.

The answer is not Arcus sending him another payment. Stop blaming Arcus for the situation.

And for anyone saying I have bias for Arcus, get real. Arcus is one of my primary competitors on Sythe. But I can relate to his situation and feel that he should not be coerced into taking a financial risk over the fault of another party.
