ARC (Runescape Client) - FIXED! - Works on all Windows + Linux Wine

Fuck, I'm having the same problem as World Domination. I'm on 32-bit Vista and I have the framework installed.

 

I honestly don't know what the issue could be unless you don't have the latest Windows Media Player (that's what the music player uses).

I thought it stood for A Runescape client the first time, am I crazy or was that it's name a first?

 

To be honest I never even thought of that. At first it was A Ravishing Client then I though "No that's gay", so then I thought of "A Revolutionary Client". I'm probably going to change the name when v1.0 comes out anyway.

 

To World Domination, update your windows vista to service pack 2.

To Cheese ftw, check if you have the latest windows xp service pack, and try again. The latest service pack is 3, for windows xp.

 

I was also maybe thinking that it would have to do with not having SP1 of .NET framework 3.5. Anyway, once I'm ready to release the next version, I'll make a new thread. It won't be for a while, but when it happens I'll post every single method I know of that could be used to avoid the issue.

For people who think they can resolve it on their own, the error that some people are getting is an InvalidOperationException.

 

Strangely enough the Linux user, PublicityFtF, had no problems at all running this with Wine on a first attempt, but the Windows users are tearing their hair out trying to find a fix.

Anyone who wants to test it can test it. As for the others who are having problems, I'd like to restate that I have no idea what's causing it...It's possibly all the registry storings and loadings that it does to store data. So, to fix that, I've come up with a new plan:

-Possibly remaking it for compatibility with .NET 2.0 (comes with Vista I believe and one of XP's service packs)
-Removing all registry edits and making use of the My namespace for settings and storing all other data in XML files/INI files/plain text files

So, the next version will still be posted in this thread as it will be mainly a bug-fixing version (I will most likely not be adding more features).
