[Approved] Allow bots in the trading section on Discord

Currently in the trading channels on Discord, we can only use a bot one time per day to type in any channel.

What I'm suggesting is that you change that to maybe once every 2-4 hours? I don't see why it isn't allowed as effectively it makes no difference and just adds extra things that we have to do when advertising our product/services.

Edit: People are botting already in the Discord, in different channels except #trade-gold. This suggestion should either be approved or it should be enforced stricter than it already is and stop the current bots not missing a 30-35 min interval (people have different wait times to make it look like they aren't botting - when it is pretty clear that they are).

Agreed, allowing people to just use bots within the discord defeats the object of advertising. It would be better for those who actually are trying to grow to do it themselves to keep people more informed on who is actually open for business and who isn't.

I'm neutral to this but a lot of the people currently use bots with randomized waiting times with a fake "sleep" time. Or as simple as only bumping while your discord account is set to online status (I haven't made these I've refused like a good boy).

 

people did it for months with only recently getting removed, talking with a staff member im pretty sure theyre going to be changing how the channels and their rules work soon anyways. support with a restructure on the timings on the channels, dislike the idea of outright allowing bots (maybe as a donor perk)

 

I personally also like the manual bumping for discord, but I can also agree with the auto bumping side of things but in my opinion it takes away from activity. I am on a 50/50 standpoint on this suggestion personally.

 

This is honestly borderline annoying as is, it takes away from the genuine advertisements on sythe discord and it just ends up being 2-3 bots spamming a few of the trade channels.

Currently all trade channels except for trade-gold are not monitored at all, atm we currently got @CodeineCoder without fail at different intervals almost never missing a 30 minute post whether it be 10:22 -> 10:52 in one channel and at the same time 10:34 -> 11:04 despite the trade rules clearly stating 1 bot post. This suggestion is basically already in place.

I can understand allowing bot posts on the forum but bot spamming discord on alt discords with links to sythe threads and not even being able to pm the person posting takes away from the discord experience, when I see someone post something in discord I want to be able to pm them, not linked to a sythe thread which links to a discord server to create a ticket before im able to speak to a real person.

Perhaps I should have said this in the original post, but yes there are people already botting posts and it's blatantly obvious who is as it is not humanly possible to post every 30-35 mins on the dot. What I should have asked is to either allow it or enforce this stricter as clearly it is not currently.

This I support, make your stance clear as currently it states you may only use 1 bot post per day but people are clearly posting with a bot more than once per day with 0 action taken against them.

 

I agree with either limiting to the hourly suggested time or properly enforce the rules around botting.

At the end of the day, botting is just spam anyways. Maybe set a limit to how often a person can post within a channel (1 -2 times per day).

 

I feel that the advertisement in discord, in general, is pointless. Isn't that the point of the forum?

 

Totally unfair and bannable? Is there no way to actually catch these guys out as it really is a huge and unfair advantage...

 

Negative 1 support for bots in the discord. I manually bump and post messages every 30 minutes and constantly moniter it to get good deals as quick as they are posted, this gives me an edge over people not doing so. The wts wtb threads on the site are already full of afk bumping threads 24/7 let's not do the same for the discord.

 

Just because there's an underground market for Rhino horns doesnt mean we should legalise it. Likewise, here. No support.

 

This really is a problem, we really need to slow down trading section on sythe discord because it's currently being flooded by few people using bots and bumping two times per hour. This doesn't make any sense because in sythe you can't use autobumpers and can only post once in 8 hours. Why would discord be any different? I suggest no to bots in discord and yes to adding 8 hours cap between two messaged from same user. (if this is possible on discord)
