[APPROVED] Change DNT Rank

Instead of non-market user it should be more appealing like

Banned from market

DO NOT TRADE

I think it'd be much more appealing since old banned rank was red, text should also be red for current DNT rank

 

support as I believe the DNT rank should be red; however, i don't see a need to change the wording of the rank. so i guess you could say partial support from me.

 

agree w @QBDyce slap me with the red text and show me no mercy, but in all reality making it stand out a bit more might help oh so slightly?

I agree with this. Maybe make the font bigger / bolder as well. It's not an issue with how it is at the moment, however making it more visible wouldn't harm anyone.

 

That specific text was long debated with Sythe himself back when I wrote the original system.

I see no problem with how it is currently, give me a reason besides "the old banned color was red".

I've seen no cases about people trading with DNT's or other issues so what's the problem? There's been no issues.

Also - I actually had the rank itself done to(the design), all of that was handed over to Sythe, I even paid for it.

I'm not supporting.

 

I saw plenty of threads in market section posted by DNT users it seems like even those people who have it don't get it they're banned from marketplace. Either DNT should have their own usergroup and shouldn't be able to view/post in market section or their rank should be alarming, not just informing, people don't read information, they read warnings. Red is most intensive color for humen eyes, that's what signs warnings / limits, that's what brings our attention, it makes people stop for a short read

I'm not a moron, when I wrote the system OF COURSE THEY CANT SEE THE MARKET.

Jesus I just lost all confidence in this suggestion after that statement, if a user is DNT'd they cannot send PM's to non-staff(May be unable to PM anyone, Think this was modified at a later date) and cannot post or even see the market threads, its only if a user is DNT'd *after* posting a thread in the market u might see a DNT users thread until its pushed back down by other market threads.

The only decent part of this suggestion MIGHT be to change the text to red - but I think that would make it even more difficult to read on a dark blue background. Also there were red image options proposed, they were DENIED.

It might help if you learn the basics about what your talking about especially when the guy who wrote and still has the original massive design still on his computer is likely to respond.

I support this as well. It could severely help new users as well. It's up to every Sythe user to do their due diligence, but at the end of the day, a small change like the suggested one would help show the severity of the DNT rank and will hopefully help a lot more users err on the side of caution. Just my 2 cents

 

I don't know about the color, but if you simply put " banned market user " vs non-market user it could help

Rabs scammed with BANNED FROM MARKET in his name, and no one gave a shit Daily was banned from the market.

 

I see divine not supporting this so I'm going to support it for myself and him in his own place as well. If you're not supposed to trade with someone it should be obvious. TWC is one thing but if you're a DNT everyone should be able to tell something's off from say..... red text! ..even someone who speaks very little English

 

I'll support this one too. It's supposed to be a sign to show that you are (not) supposed to trade with them and the sign currently does not really give that away (sure it does if you take your time to read it) but you also have to consider the dummies (as said above in other posts..) that they do exist and it's only fair for them to see a RED SIGN instead of a normal white one that can be confused for a donor perk if you are slightly drunk or tired etc.

 

I think red pops out more so sure, but other than that there really is no need to change it.

 

I think this should be taken even further. For DNT's there should be harsher penalties such as restricting thread creations, removing avatars, removing signatures (you can still view signatures on the persons profile) removing/deleting/locking/archiving vouch threads etc.

If someone who is DNT'ed has all the access to Sythe except the market section that isn't much of a punishment. It also doesn't motivate them to make payments to scam victims which is supposed to be the main point of the rank.

 

Agreed there. It's not like DNT users can see the market anyways, neither can people PM them. So it might be easier to see for the eye, but it won't make much of a difference.

 

Support the idea of it saying "Banned Market User". Also red looks nice too.

 

I agree with Bulrog and the others. Should be red, if only to help those who don't speak english/understand that's it's a rank given when someone scams. When I first saw it I thought it was just a rank given to users who don't want to be messaged about market because they choose not to trade
