[APPROVED] Autobump/paid-bump clarifications and transparency

If a user is using their ranks, status, reputability, etc to bump for a trader/company, then either A) said user should have a disclaimer in their bump stating that they are in no way affiliated, and will not be held responsible for any scams/malicious activity that takes place, AND that it is purely a paid bump; or B) if said user does not have a disclaimer/chooses not to have one (at their discretion - if they trust said trader/company), then they will be held liable, alongside the company/trader if any scams/malicious activity were to take place.

This can quite clearly mislead and confuse users into believing said bumper is part of the business - presenting a fall sense of security.

It's disingenuous to bump for a trader/company utilising said bumpers status/rank, when in reality, there is no actual tangible connection.

I feel like this affects @sypherz too, given the advent of his bumping tool. But I support the OP and agree that we could use a little more clarification around the new rules.

 

Clarification would be helpful, I agreed. After I'm done working on revisions for the new rule I'll likely begin using a burner account to remedy this.

 

Should the same apply to user titles/signatures?

 

tbh @Zora when i first saw your bump i assumed you was a worker at first until i saw others and realised what was happening.

I agree with @SellerMan a disclaimer wouldn't hurt - to new users this would clear alot of things up

 

Perhaps on the bump itself, exactly how @SellerMan has mentioned. e.g.

This is a paid automated bump - i am in now way affiliated with the thread owner.

 

You're probably right, however if you're directly bumping a thread i would say thats more likely to be involved with the business itself. But it wouldnt hurt to have clarity in both.

 

support as a bump could signify to some people that the person bumping is affiliated with the service.

 

I actually earlier had mistaken a auto bumper for being affiliated to a site/thread for hiring workers.

Sure. Anyone who runs autobumping services must clearly state that they are not affiliated with the thread they're bumping for in their posts.
