[APPROVED] Add Ex-Staff to Sythe Discord

Currently the most of the usergroups from the Sythe are on Discord aswell, however Ex Staff/Retired Staff is not. My suggestion is to add this group to Discord aswell and have it seperately from the online members aswell just like the other ranks. While not as a sign of trust, those users have put in a significantly amount of time in moderating Sythe with little to no recognition. This group won't help that, but it's atleast a step in right direction. Perhaps this group could also come with the ability to join voice channels they are not yet able to, because having @Gladiator and such constantly moving us to private channels on Discord is kinda time they could best spent elsewhere.

 

I don't see any reason to be against this, as discord is the community hang out more so than a trading place, especially now that the trading section has been shortened in the server.

I would say that rule / being able to move users into private channel on discord are 2 completely different things

 

This is a convenience thing and is extremely easy to add, why not? Support

 

As far as I can see there is no reason to add ex-staff (with) powers on the Sythe Discord. Maybe Add them in with no powers?

 

Support as a user group. No need for powers/perms.

 

Normally I'd say this is unnecessary, but if we're making groups for Overwatch and League Verifiers, I think there's room for Ex-staff.

Just make a group chat on discord and call if you want it to be private

No support for ex staff rank seems like a waste and they do nothing so why give them perms in discord

 

I do not want it to be private chat lol, it's simply a suggestion to have a seperate Discord group for them such as we have one for Verifiers, TWC and DNT users and more - neither do those ranks being seperated from the online members add anything to the market's safety or activity, yet they are still there.

 

I mean at the end of the day theres a private chat in the discord and a public chat if you don't want to use those ones either ask a current mod to move you guys or just make a new server or something. Asking for ex mods to get perms even if its as small as moving someone is just dumb and 100% if you were current staff you would laugh at this yourself

 

Let’s forget about the additional perms here and focus on a group seperated from the online members just like Verifiers, CDT etc.

 

At the end of the day all those other verifiers, CDT and PR etc have a good reason for being there. If someone new joins and they need something it stands out and they can contact the person. For example if they want to speak to a pr member they can easily find one and if they want to speak to a league verifier to get their rank done they can. Ex mods bring nothing to the table and no user is going to contact them for anything. It's pointless to have and is just adding more ranks to the discord. Some new kids will end up confusing them as current staff and pm them asking for help only to be redirected to another staff member because lets be honest 90% of ex staff don't care about helping people anymore.

Ex staff not wanting to help is a different discussion, those who are willing to help however will be easily available. It’s not like CDT/PR/TC need to be easily contacted.

 

Agreed - Just a usergroup though

 

I support, being a moderator you learn things that other regular users don’t quite know, so being able to identify a user as a ex mod you will be approachable to get an answer answered.

Ex-staff will appear below "Do Not Trade" and above "Verified User". You will need to reverify with ShinBot#6890 (UID: 210253908076003342) in order for the role to be added.
