    Apartment Fire sad day.

Today was a really sad day for me and friends.
Unlike any other day, today was somewhat special, as it was part of our celebration for Rusana/dandia.

My friend and I left at 7 pm sharp to reach our church to help for the "opening" day.
But that wasn't it.. we we stayed through church till prayers were over, suddenly we heard a explosion. police sirens helicopters. no one thought of it as much.

later my friend and I just after prayers were over decided get outside fast for the food (as we hadn't had anything to eat for over 24 hours)
We were talking about the explosion until I looked up and i have to tell you i was in great shock.

The entire apartment complex next to our church was on fire.
    ambulance/fire trucks/police everywhere.
My friend and I rushed to the scene as many as us gathered.
I parked rushly as I knew my friends grandparents lived in that building.
smashing some guys car mirror accidentally
(lets not talk about that anymore)

as we ran we saw flames and sparks flying though the air.
we ran everywhere in search of my friends family, not to be seen.
a news reporter came up to us and asked if we knew anyone who lived here. we explain dour story, and he told us nothing could be done at this point, so he remarked to us to follow him so we would be able to translate other family's issues with the same problem.

we did help as much as we could, but finally we found my friends grandparents.
their home was entirely destroyed. No where to go, as with no insurance for the damage received.

we drove back to my grandparents home, as they didn't know what had happened, till they saw raging flames though their window.
We knew everyone was safe now, so we decided drive back to the apartments to video record the scene.

Swamped with civilians it was chaos.
as were were doing so, the fire alarm rings, how ironic can this be as the fire is at its peek the fire alarm rings.
suddenly we heard explosions as the embers did reach the "gas tank" to our understanding and our "guessing"
then parts of the building collapsed within, as debris fell from the roof.
the fire had started in more then two locations at this point.
Sparks caused another fire to start on the opposite side of another neighborhood.

after a while we decided to go back to church and get some announcement heard to the family's who did live in those apartments.
but the celebration still continued as it was tradition and since it did not affect all but few members.

the celebration lasted till 12 am, till we decided to go back home, then we just realized my friend had no home. as he did live with his grandparents for the summer.
I dropped my friend over his uncles and aunt over where his family has to stay till they find another home .

So I finally come back home and all the lights were open as were other houses of the neighborhood at this time. I see people in my grandparents house
(which I'm also staying for the night)
theirs a family right now sleeping upstairs weeping, as they had lost everything.

Now this made me very sad for them, to think how such an awful tragedy could happen.
Now I'm here writing this, as I look though my window, I still see smoke going through the air, as fire engines are cleaning up the remaining mess.
I deeply am sorry for the people who might have lost their lives today and their homes.

Overall today was a chaotic sad day.

I took few pictures and video recorded some of the embers on the apartments.

Well I won't know what the casualties or the damage was entirely till tomorrow.
I'm going bed right now, my feet and back are killing me after the jogging and the "shock"

    Apartment Fire sad day.

I walked over to the apartments this morning.
Smoke is still in the sky, and it literally burns your lungs to breath.

Entire roof has collapsed, building wall looks narrow as it were to collapse any minute now as well.

Area is blocked off with authorities, so I couldn't get a clearer view.

    30 people lost their homes.

    Truly sad.

I have to get ready for work, then I'll be calling my friend to see how his family is doing.

What the fuck is your problem?
What if that was YOUR friends?

he's not asking for sympathy, he's telling a story and what happend, as you can see this is "General Discussion." Not "tell stories for sympathy."

If your mother died would that be considered a "big deal"?

If your best friend got killed by a drunk driver would that be considered a "big deal"?

If you lost your faith, your hope, even your dignity, would that not mean anything to you?

On a side note let me tell you something else.

30+ people had the possibility of dying today
30+ people are now homeless because of someones careless mistake.
and now 30+ people have to suffer for this tragedy.
Now just think for one good moment, what if one of those people were you or a love one?

Think about this, and then reply to this topic.. don't be running off now.
