I'm stuck on this one problem:
26.5g of McCl2 to liters of 0.200 M (molarity) MgCl2 solution
I'm confused on the entire damn thing kinda :/

I would appreciate it if anyone would kinda walk me through the whole thing..?

thanks lots

So you want to find amount of liters of water to make said solution?

If so then you know the formula for molarity is:

M = moles/L (H2O)

So here you want L and you know M and moles (simple conversion).

L = moles/M

1) 26.5g*[atomic weight of Mg + 2(Atomic weight of Cl)]=moles of MgCl2
2) moles of MgCl2/x Liters=.200mol/1 Liter.

So your answer is the answer to part 1 divided by .200. Make sure to keep 3 significant figures throughout.

Ok so stoichiometry's the easy part. pretty soon you will be doing gas law stoichiometry, so I made you this flow chart to help you, it took me like an hour and a half and I made it just so I could share it with you, mine's in my notebook. so I hope it helps :-)
