Can't enjoy the game anymore?

I've been gambling on Runescape since dicing was a thing and I still hit the duel arena up a lot. I have great accounts but if I'm not staking I'm bored. I've taken months breaks but I always end up going back and its annoying because I just want to enjoy the game. Thankfully it hasn't effected me irl besides maybe $50 in these past years.

I went without staking for around 4 months when I made a new main (which I sold on here) but then I went back to the Duel Arena. I enjoyed the skilling/questing but now if I skill on my current main or any of my accounts I get so bored. Even pking isn't fun for me anymore.

I don't want to leave this game, I want to enjoy it but I just can't anymore. I don't know what I should do at this point.

 

Welcome to the club. I used to do max bossing on RS3 and bossed a bit on Oldschoool. Its no longer fun for me anymore.

This game gets really, really, boring once you have achieved everything in the game. What helped me was making an ironman- That got boring quickly after I maxed it. I'm Guess I'm going to max on a regular account.

The only Runescape fun I have these days is making money through it here on sythe.

 

I have got to the point where I am just really good at AFKing accounts and barely ever actively play - this just suits how I am at the moment though.

 

just wish jagex would bring back forinthry dungeon's revenants. so much fun back then.

 

I combated this by making an ironman. They're built your way. Want to grind 99 fishing? Sure it's beneficial.

Etc.

Man, this is exactly wat i have! After gambling i never wanted to go back to green drags or shit like that it ruined my game and actually all other games with gambling in it to.

 

As I've been doing services for 4 years straight now. What I do is, work on my own account now, make new pures, make new builds, and do things that challenges me. Like doing firecapes with the worst gear possible. Lowest stats etc. Challenges is the key for me.

 

Gambling is the bane of RS lol. Join a pvm clan and boss. Do unique things like minigames, etc. Go for pets. If you cant stay away from the gambling Id suggest playing another game because it can get to the point where it affects you irl.

 

I needed a game that got me excited about playing it again, that got me revved up and my blood pumping. OSRS had that when I got really nice drops and the occasional whip smite or clan smited AGS.

Now adays I main Rust which i've put 400+ hours into over the course of 2-3 months and it gets me those things.

Everyone will find something they like, even if it's not in the same game.

 

The thing that brought RS back to life for me was playing in a community. Hit up a few friends make a discord and work towards goals together? Anything with friends is usually more enjoyable

 

Make a hardcore ironman, has been fun for me so far.

 

When I was getting bored of playing on my main, I found that making an ironman breathed a lot of life back into the game for me. It's a lot more grinding but even the little things give you a pretty big sense of accomplishment. The whole experience just feels more genuine, like this is how the game was meant to be played.

To be honest though, if you're not having any fun no matter what you try, you shouldn't force yourself to keep playing.

It's a simple answer even though you don't quite want to accept it. Just find a new game or hobby you enjoy, if you don't have one of those you enjoy go out and try and find it.
