Help with Rocksmith for PC

Sorry if this isn't the right forum to post this thread, I searched through the games forum and only saw xbox, and even though this game is also for xbox, I'm getting it for PC so I thought it would do better here.


So, I have a bass guitar, I've had it for around a year now and instructional vidoes bore me to shit, I can't learn to play it by ear, I've tried. So I've decided to buy Rocksmith for my PC from a friend for 10 bucks, cant go wrong there right? Well the problem is he doesnt have the cable to connect my guitar to my computer. All he has is the game and its case, its never been played and it says "rocksmith" NOT "rocksmith guitar and bass" so....

My questions -

1. Is there more than 1 version? I've heard of "Rocksmith" and "Rocksmith Guitar & Bass". If these are 2 different games, I would guess I need the Guitar and Bass version in order to play a bass guitar on it?

2. Is the Rocksmith real tone cable for guitar AND bass, or just guitar? As on all the websites I've read that it can plug into any "guitar", but with my lack of experience I have no clue if "any guitar" includes bass, or just any 6 string.


Quick replies are HIGHLY appreciated as I will be visiting him and either buying or not buying this game within the next day or 2. So I REALLY need to know if this game will work with my bass, as well as the real tone cable I'll be ordering off of gamestop's website.

 

1. I don't know how to tell if the game comes with the bass part of the game but I know that copies that came out before bass came out don't come with it and newer ones do. If you didn't get it with the game you can get it through DLC (on PS3 anyway)
2. Yes the cord will work with bass

 

Thank you very much!! I'm going to go ahead and try it. I'll just hope that I can return the cable if something happens and I cant get the Bass as DLC for pc for some reason.
