Anybody Swim Competetively?

Just curious as to who else swims on a team or competitively on this site, because I've noticed a couple that do. Feel free to post what you swim and what times you get? My main strokes are free (28.40) breast (36 ish) and fly (32.70). You guys?

 

It actually takes you that long to do one stroke?

i do!! my times are free (26.3) breast (34.2) and idk my 50 fly,my 13-14 free 200 relay team is the fastest in the summer eastern pennsylvania division
so i got that =)

no he means his time to do a 50 mete/yard (2 laps)

 

Pretty nice times. I want to break 34 in breast by the time I'm 18, currently 15. Are you talking about yards or meters in your times?

 

25.4 Freestyle. (50)
57.8 Freestyle. (100)

Freestyle is all I really do though.

Most people say "Oh swimming is for pussies and blah blah blah" Pff... One of the most tiring sports I've done.

With times like that at 15, you should be pretty good by 18.

 

Swimming is far from a pussy sport. Try to swim 5 miles a day if you're not a swimmer, see how far you get.

Yeah I swam very competitively in high school and am just chillen in college on the club team. But at states my senior year of high school I went 22.44 in my 50 free and 1:02.30 in my 100 breast. My other times are 28.70 for my 50 breast relay split and 50.60 for my 100 free.

Swimming competitively is fun, but you need the right build for it; Phelps literally has the perfect build. Also 5 miles a day isn't so bad when your used to it:laugh:

 

ugh im seriously ginn hate saying this cause i hate bragging but im built a lot like phelps,shorter legs with a longer tors,i think i dont even know nevermind that,swimming still an extremely healthy and fun sport imo

50m breaststroke: 34ish
100m breaststroke: 1:16.00
200m breaststroke: 2:51.11

They'll decrease, I'm just not fit at the moment because I haven't been going all that often, and I've only been doing evening sessions. As soon as my hand heals, I'll drop those times

I intend to be doing <32.50 for 50m, and <1:10.50 for 100m by the end of the year (national times).

 

is that 28.70 in yards or meters? Cause, in our league, the record for 50m breast is 29.99 (my goal is to beat it, probably not going to happen though). My brother's going to swim in college, though he won't be allowed to "chill". The practices are 3 times a day, and are very intense. But with swimming, if you practice like that, you'll get really good.

 

It's in yards. I used an online converter and its about 32.80 in long course meters. But shit 29.99 is fast as hell in lcm, that's like 26 low in yards, which is what the top people at states go.

But yeah, at my college we have a varsity team and a club team. Varsity is the real deal where they're on scholarships and swim a shit ton, and club team is where they just chill and have fun. I really wanted to try new things in college and actually have a good time instead of dieing in the pool, so I chose to do the club team and have had a lot of fun. I never really liked swimming that much but just did it because I started early and got good at it. Where do you swim btw?

200 free: 1:59
