Anybody here into DJ'ing?

One of my little brothers came home last night with a brand new Numark CDJ Mixdeck, speakers, and headphones.

So far we have been having an awesome time messing around with it and learning how to use it, and we are both trying to learn how to beatmatch with some Deadmau5 CDs we had lying around the house.

Are any of you fellow Sythers into DJ'ing? If so, do you know any valuable tips & tricks for beginners, or a good website or video tutorial on how to get started? Especially beatmatching, its alot harder than it looks

 

I've never had equipment or what-not to do it, but it would be fun to do.

 

Yeah it's a blast. Definitely much harder than it looks though I think it is going to take awhile before I can beat match quickly and consistently.

 

I have only tried to DJ with computer program. I never had professional equipment. And even with a pc program, it was hard.

 

Yeah I used to have a computer program as well, I forget which one it was though =| I used to use it in conjunction with FL Studio to make songs haha.

My brother's Numark decks came with a bunch of computer software, including Virtual DJ, so I can hook my laptop up to the decks and we can play around with it further.

It seems that there are many up-and-coming DJ's these days who are self-taught and who have a blast doing it. I personally know many people around town that play constantly at raves and yet they aren't even old enough to pay in clubs I am surprised there aren't any people here on Sythe who have tried DJ'ing or who are interested! I was hoping maybe I could get some tips on here or hear some mixes.
